We’re long overdue for a revised 2017 Top Five Law of Attraction Podcast! I have posted previous recommendations on this blog here: https://abundantlifeinitiative.com/2014/01/02/top-10-podcasts-for-law-of-attraction-new-thought-and-life-enrichment/ and here: https://wordpress.com/post/abundantlifeinitiative.com/1650. There are some Podcasts on my prior Top Law of Attraction lists that have since stopped recording new recordings, while a few of my favorites have remained active.
- Everyday Attraction with Rae Zander and Heather McKay Novak. This is an excellent Podcast. In the early days, this Podcast was an hour long, but this past year has been in a 30 minute format. I thought 30 minutes was not enough, but, nope – I am still filled up with great, Law of Attraction advise and insight. Rae has the ability to break down Law of Attraction in a way that you can relate to and apply immediately in your life. This Podcast has life changing, comforting information for you and should be your first stop in your search for the perfect LOA Podcast. Check out this podcast at: http://everydayattraction.com/.
- Flowdreaming with Summer McStravick. This is still one of the best shows out there on manifesting the life of your dreams. Summer has some awesome products and services on her website that will coach and guide you to living your best life, right here, in the now. Check out her Podcast here: https://flowdreaming.com/podcast/.
- Think, Believe and Manifest with Constance Arnold. Constance Arnold has to be the hardest working inspirational life coach there is! She never ceases creating the best podcasts on Law of Attraction. She has so much wisdom and her guests are out of this world with their advice and sharing of their own life journeys. She is an absolute treat to listen to, with her southern drawl and no-nonsense advice. I download Constance’s podcasts from iTunes. Check out Constance at: http://www.fulfillingyourpurpose.com/talk-show/.
- Matt O’Grady’s Success Podcast (Formerly of the Matt & Phil Law of Attraction Podcast). I was sad when Phil left the show for his new life in New Mexico, but was super relieved Matt decided to keep the Podcast going. Matt has shortened the show’s run time and offers great advice on all things Law of Attraction. I’m able to download Matt’s podcast from iTunes. Check out Matt’s podcast here: http://mattogradycoaching.com/podcast-show/.
- Inspire Nation/Daily Inspiration-Motivation-Meditation with Michael Sandler. I started listening to Inspire Nation podcasts a couple of years ago and it was chock full of witty insight on law of attraction, positive psychology and improving your life one thought and day at a time. I listen to Inspire Nation through Google Play. Here’s more: http://inspirenationshow.com/.

The Haves and the Have Mores

My photo of Hearst Castle July 2017
This summer, my husband and I decided to celebrate our fifth anniversary by visiting Hearst Castle, in San Simeon, California and it truly was a wonder to bear witness to. What appears to be an endless estate perched high up on a hill that overlooked the sea, was built during the Great Depression, during abject poverty.

Hearst Castle, Grand Dining Room July 2017
I was struck by how Hearst was able to imagine such a kingdom, in a time when all around him was going bankrupt. There were times Hearst himself faced financial hardships, but what differentiated him from the rest of the world, was his belief that he remained affluent and abundant, even through the depression. He had an attitude of abundance and his legacy was assured, simply because he believed and imagined.
That’s the lesson for me in visiting Hearst Castle – one must keep an attitude of being wealthy, abundant, and healthy, if they are to have those attributes begin to show up (and stay) in their lives. The dips of financial wealth do not bind our future to poverty – but a lack mentality will most certainly lock you to a fate of struggle. Do not allow negative feelings towards your today’s lack experience to color your tomorrow’s financial experiences.
Tying your worth or even your ability to generate money energy by your current bank account balance will surely keep you in a low funds lifestyle. Tying your overall health and wellbeing to today’s pain and suffering, will surely foster more future agony. I say this from a place of knowing real, true physical and emotional pain and with the authority that even with all the pain there is in this world, you can still carve out a few seconds to allow yourself to feel your way into manifesting how you truly want to feel.
Even for just a few seconds a day, hold your highest goals and thoughts in your heart and mind – to begin the paradigm shift needed to change course to your right direction.
You must look past the current circumstances and how you do this is by setting goals, creating and saying affirmations daily, and taking action steps in the general direction you’re trying to go. As with any change in life, initially there will be evidence of struggle and at times chaos, but in time, as your thoughts begin to purify from lack-filled ruminations to ones of abundance, your life will start showing signs of change for the better.
Right or wrong, for better or for worst, Hearst held the belief he was to have and hold abundance for generations to come and guess what, that’s what he got. All you and I want in this life is to experience a colorful, abundant life. Let’s be like Hearst and know abundance is already ours for the taking.

Goodbye 2016, Welcome 2017!

Happy New Year! A new year deserves a proper welcome and the old one warrants a proper goodbye. Aside from the usual resolutions and wild parties, have you given thought to new traditions you’d like to honor your new year by?
It’s important to set intentions on how you wish to bring forth a beautiful life in the days ahead and no time like the new year to do it.
There were some things about 2016 that I wanted to leave behind and some things I wanted to carry into my new year. I usually create or enhance an existing vision board each year, write my intentions, and spend time with family. I decided to do all of that AND round it off with a beautiful ritual at dusk to signify 2016’s sunset and the sunrise of 2017.
My sister and my three children got together to work on our intentions and visions for next year. We poured over magazines, ate food, sipped on sparkling apple cider as we created our vision boards.
While my family created boards, I continued to work on my existing “book of visions” and my new Bloom Vision Planner – which has a space for a vision board. The photos below will demonstrate what I worked on towards my life’s vision.

My new Bloom Vision Planner!

I added a planning pad with velcro to my Bloom Planner.

I added velcro so I can attach/detach my planning pad. The planning pad allows more space for other aspects of my life – like blogging!

I chose this planner because of the space to add a vision board. I had so much fun creating my vision board with my family.

I’ve been working on my “book of visions” for a year now. I purchased a sketch pad with thick pages to add cutouts to. I prefer a vision book to a board – it allows me to add many pages for all aspects of my life.

My vacation pursuits page of my book of visions.

My writing life vision page within my book of visions.
As the day drew to a close, I asked my family to write on tiny slips of paper what it was they wished to gently release to 2016. My own personal release statements included releasing impatience and lack mentality. We burned each of the slips of the paper, as we said, “_________ I release you and gently leave you behind in 2016. Amen and so it is.” As the room became dark, I said, “The sun has died, the old year has passed.” I then had each of us light candles. Once the room was filled with candle light, I then said, “The sun has rose, the new year has come.”
We felt a sense of resolution to what we wanted to release and let go and an excitement for what’s to come in the new year. Our family needed this ceremony, after the hellish year we had nearly losing my son Daniel in a near fatal auto accident in the first part of 2016.
Three books I consulted on creating a ritual for my family to participate in were Spiritual Clearings by Diana Burney, Real Life Rituals by Karyl Huntley, and The Smudging and Blessings Book: Inspirational Rituals to Cleanse and Heal, by Jane Alexander.
I now feel ready to embark on my new year with fervor and focused intention. There will be nothing tethering me to the old year.
I invite you to look at ways to release the old and to make room for the new.
I wish you a very blessed and prosperous New Year!

While I Was Away…Abundance Abounds

Image courtesy of Colorful Abstract Lines for Background Stock Photo by tigger11th, from www.freedigitalphotos.net
This blog post is dedicated to my generous sister, Jennifer, who lovingly blessed me with sharing her laptop computer. My computer crashed this past summer and it’s thanks to her generosity that I’m able to crank out a blog post today from the comforts of my desk at home. I love you Baby Sis and I thank you for all your love and support.
Hello! I’ve been away from my blogging community for a spell and I’m sorry I left without so much as a “goodbye” or a “see you soon.” I was on hiatus from writing and even checking my personal emails. I only had enough energy and time to care for my two teenagers and preschooler, work my insurance gig, and manage my home. This fall, I squeezed in time to work for the American River Review, a community college literary magazine, which has given me great experience in creating an award winning publication. I attended a much needed women’s spiritual retreat in the great Mendocino County in mid-September. Shortly after the retreat, an ultrasound revealed several uterine fibroid tumors and I had a revelation about the cause of my pulmonary embolism condition (more on that in another blog).
I was not compelled to push through my so-called writer’s block. Instead, I was in a space and season of self-reflection and internalization.
I’ve been attending my beloved church, Center for Spiritual Awareness (CSA) of West Sacramento (http://www.csasacramento.org/church-services.html). Reverend Georgia’s three part “Path to Wealth” series inspired me to get back on my morning inspirational routine:
Here are some podcasts I checked out while I was away:
- Summer McStravick’s Flowdreaming September 8, 2015: How You REALLY Use Law of Attraction (https://flowdreaming.com/)
- Summer McStravick’s Flowdreaming October 13, 2015: Creating Strong Healthy Boundaries
- Summer McStravick’s Flowdreaming October 20, 2015 Create Easy, Smooth Energy Toward Your Goals…and Ditch that Hard Stuff!
- Lynn Crocker’s Create Your Reality October 26, 2015 Mastering Your Habits is the Key to Living a Healthier, Happier, and Fulfilling Life (https://createyourrealityradio.wordpress.com/author/lynncrocker/)
- Janice Campbell’s Receive Your Life October 1, 2015 Faith in Life, Faith in Yourself (http://www.receiveyourlife.com/)
Janice Campbell’s own summertime hiatus from her podcast Receive Your Life gave me permission to take my own break. Just like her, I needed a break to focus inward and to readjust to new opportunities that were coming my way. Now, I can give renewed and invigorated energy to my blog.
The books I’m reading right now tie in nicely to the above mentioned church services and Podcasts:
A Path to Wealth by May McCarthy. CSA’s Reverend Georgia used this book as a basis for her three part series on building wealth (please see above videos). May provides a fun and easy way to strengthen your bond with God and honoring what it is you already have and what’s to come. A definite must (and easy) read. She reminds us we are stewards of God’s gifts and when we turn to our God Source, we receive all that we need to live a truly abundant life.
Giving Thanks: The Art of Tithing by Paula Langguth Ryan. True tithing comes in many forms, not just the paper money we typically think of when we are giving back. Tithe your time, heart, talent, and gifts and you will see an abundance of time, heart, talent and gifts bestowed unto you. Tithing is the spiritual currency we use to give and to receive. This is a gem of a book that takes the mystery out of true tithing.
Thank you readers and fellow bloggers for reading my blog and always being such great sources of support and inspiration for me. I’d love to hear about what you’ve been creating and manifesting in the comment box below and discuss ways we can further support each other in our quest for an abundant life.

Your Problem’s New Street Name is Opportunity!

Image courtesy of Red Ant With Problem by photoexplorer, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
Are you saddled with problems? Are you wrapped up in what’s not working, that you’ve neglected to focus on what is working and what opportunities you do have to change your circumstances? Well, a definite must-listen-to-twice Podcast is Rae Zander’s Everyday Attraction’s Friday, July 17, 2015 show, “Getting Current With Who You Have Become” (https://www.unity.fm/episode/EverydayAttraction_071715).
Rae asked in her show, are you loving your life, even when the shit hits the fan? We’ve come here to sometimes muck things up. Life isn’t meant to be one long, easy ride. Can you imagine how boring life would be if everything was vanilla and smooth? Me personally, I like a hellishly fun roller coaster ride to let me know I’m alive.
Stop looking at your problems, as problems! Look at them as answers to your prayers. Money troubles, health issues, relationship woes, career snags, the big Ds (divorce, debt, death), are not here to kill you, they are here because you can sculpt a blob of clay into a beautiful piece of art. The blob of clay is your life waiting for you to create what you want with it. Once you stop looking at your problems as evidence of everything going wrong, switch it around and think of it as everything going right. Practice this with seemingly small “problems” and watch how everything shifts and moves in the “right” direction. Even if you have remold your clay of areas in your life over and over again, remember there’s no right or wrong way to create your life’s masterpiece.
Now that these areas in your life have your attention, what are you going to do with it? Are you going to continue to manifest more contrast with negative thoughts about your “problems?” Or, are you going to change course and move in a different direction? Maybe a new word to use in place of “problem” is “opportunity.”
The reason more “bad” things happen is because we dwell in the negative emotions that come with dealing with so-called problems. The more angst and anxiety around a certain subject, the more you align to that emotional vibrational frequency. Look at problems as opportunities to do and feel something different.
The truth is, “what’s going on in your bank account today is yesterday’s news,” according to Rae from Everyday Attraction. She opines we’ve already manifested the low funds and crying over the present circumstance is a waste of energy. Sure, you could cry and tell the story to all your friends that you are broke, but guess what? All that’s doing is perpetuating the circumstance you’re trying to move away from. Shift your perception to what it is you DO have and want. That’s why gratitude journals are so useful. They remind us how we are abundant.
Abundance is not just money. If you can breathe, you are blessed. If you can read this blog post and understand what its saying, you are blessed. If you have no pain, you are blessed. And, if you have love in your heart and are loved, you are abundantly blessed. Stop telling stories of lack, and start celebrating and holding into gratitude what’s going right in your life.
I love the term “divine discontent.” I read a Facebook post recently from a co-worker asking if her friends knew of any companies that are hiring. I know from working with her that she’s in a highly stressful job and I can relate because three years ago, that was me, too. But, I also know that her discontent is divinely sent. The uncomfortableness of her stressful job has her searching for something better, more in alignment with where she truly wants to be. She may not have articulated it in that fashion, but that’s what it is. She’s calling out for something better because her discontent is showing her she’s unhappy. And, her taking the simple step of asking friends if there are other jobs out there is signaling to herself and the Universe that she’s ready to do something about her discontent.
The uninformed person would whine about their stressful job for years before they decide to change their thinking to open up to new possibilities. But, the enlightened person takes action when they feel the lower vibrational energies stirring inside them. They realize the present circumstance is a manifestation of yesterday’s thoughts. They know their present circumstance does not bound their future – unless they allow it to. Your power is ALWAYS IN THE NOW. Act like the Co-Creator you’ve come to earth to be and get out of the victimhood mentality.
Rae says when you start to shift your perception of what’s going on is when you finally come to a place of finding more balance in your life, no matter what is actually unfolding in the present moment.
Stop looking at problems like fifteen ton weights holding you down and look at them as possibilities to set you free!

I Am In a Supportive Universe

Image courtesy of Universe by duron123, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
I am in a supportive Universe and ALL my needs are absolutely met.
I am in a supportive Universe… is one of my most favorite, powerful affirmations I say on a daily basis.
When you say (and believe) you are in a supportive Universe, you are activating all that will support that claim.
The Universe supports you in helping you to be the fullest expression of who you are. When you shine your light, in only the way you can bring forth the Light, the Universe expands and grows. Others are moved by your expansion. It is your love of life that pushes the folds of time and space to the edges of eternity. Your natural, curious, loving self is connected to the Universal Flow. Your raised vibrational energy helps to heighten our Collective Consciousness. It is vital to us all for you to have all you need to reveal more of your authentic self.
It is important to know that not only do you benefit from the Universe’s support, the Universe depends on you to be who it is you were brought here to be. The Universe will surround you with people and things to support you and your vision. Universal support is always there, always shaping and molding matter into what it is you need and want, directed by your thoughts.
Miracles happen all the time, why not be a recipient of all that is available to you? In order to receive, you have to first believe you are worthy, then you have to allow what it is that is trying to get to you. To feel worthy is to void all feelings of inadequacy and undeserving emotions, and instead filling up with self-love.
We tend to forget we have already inherited God’s gifts of life, love, and liberty. We wrongly believe there’s separation between ourselves and God or ourselves and that which we want. It is this perceived separation that causes our suffering. Old church doctrines of God being vengeful is where it likely started. This perceived separation is further fed by guilt and shame we hold towards ourselves. We suffer when we forget God dwells in and around us, not in some heaven mothership. We suffer when we focus on lack, instead of abundance and sustenance. We suffer when we forget to align our thoughts with gratitude, appreciation and thanksgiving.
You will get to a point in your manifestational journey when you recognize every thought is answered, every desire birthed and fulfilled. You will understand that all thoughts are creative and influential and will be careful on what you decide to focus on.
Even through your discontent and contrast (of not having what you want), there is a support from the Universe to bring you closer to contentment. You will get to a place of trusting in the Universe and God to provide ALL you need in abundant supply. Abundant supply in health, love, family, friendship, happiness, peace, and joy.

How do you know you are in a supportive Universe?

Cultivating Your Spiritual Practice

Image courtesy of Spirit On Hook Displays Spiritual Body Or Purity by Stuart Miles from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
There are day to day activities we do that are chockfull of spirituality. Your spiritual rituals and rhythm can be found in your chores, errands, daily commute, daily work tasks, exercising and spending time with family and friends. Oftentimes, we think of going to church, praying, and meditation as the only means to cultivating a spiritual practice. But, when we recognize how natural and easy it is to carve out a spiritual connection, the world seems abound with many spiritual growth opportunities.
Here are some ways to cultivate your day to day spiritual practices:
- Stay on the lookout for pockets of time you can take to meditate or to think on what you’re grateful for. Book a conference room at work for you to turn down the lights and meditate. It only takes a few minutes for a mindfulness reboot. If you can’t book a room, go to your car, or do a walking meditation around the block on your breaks.
- Download phone apps, such as Calm or Nature Meditation Sounds to have on hand to easily meditate. Or, consider creating a YouTube subscription to all of your favorite guided meditation or nature sound videos.
- When you find yourself in a limiting or defeating thought, consider Esther Hicks/Abraham’s suggestion of the Seventeen Seconds Process where you countdown seventeen seconds as you shift your thoughts to something lighter and better serving. Rae Zander and Heather McKay Novak of Everyday Attraction Podcast’s June 5, 2015 show “The Most Powerful Alignment Practices of All Time” discuss the Seventeen Second Process in greater detail (http://www.unity.fm/episode/EverydayAttraction_060515). They sourced their information from the originator of the Seventeen Second Process, Esther Hicks/Abraham-Hicks of http://www.abraham-hicks.com/lawofattractionsource/index.php.
- Keep Your cell phone or MP3 player full of positive, New Thought, or inspirational Podcasts to listen to on your commute. I look forward to my twenty minute drives to work thanks to the inspirational Podcasts that spark my imagination and inspire me.
- There’s nothing more spiritually uplifting than calling an old friend to catch up on life and laughs. When you need a pick-me-up, call up a friend and be their pick-me-up.
- Take a walk. Even a brisk, ten minute walk in the sun is enough time to get mindful and connected to your inner thoughts. Say some affirmations, think of what you’re grateful for, or, clear your mind.
- Keep a little journal near you to capture random divine coincidences, things you are grateful for, or even ideas and sparks of interest you want to explore. Make sure its small enough to fit in your back pocket or purse so there’s no excuse to be without it.
- Read spiritual text and holy books. Read all there is – blogs, books, memoirs, poems and journals, just to name a few. Even if you can only manage a couple of pages a day, you will gain some spiritual nourishment and insight to any give situation.
- Let the music carry you away. What’s your favorite music genre? Why did you fall in love with that type of music? Fall in love all over again with a long lost genre you used to groove to. Spirituality can also be found in singing songs, so sing away.
- When exercising, have inspirational Podcasts, affirmations (create your own for a powerful experience), or music that allows your mind to run free playing through your earbuds. I like combining my workouts with spiritual practice because I’m a busy lady and I need to combine my activities.
- Play in the recesses of your mind. Daydream, get lost in your thoughts and fall in love with the Inner You.
Janice Campbell of Receive Your Life Podcast reminds us that all of us have a spiritual practice that feeds our soul and it’s up to each of us to nourish our spiritual selves everyday on her May 28, 2015 show, “Your Spiritual Practice” (http://www.unity.fm/episode/ReceiveYourLife_052815). It was Janice’s May 28th Podcast that inspired me to write this post to remind us to honor what it is that moves us and have our being.
Can you find spiritual fulfillment in the mundane, like housecleaning or your daily work duties? It doesn’t take a lot to indulge daily in what makes you spiritually connected and happy.

It is Always Your Turn to Receive God’s Good for You

Image courtesy of Satellite Dish in Sky by Vichaya Kiatying-Angsulee, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Sometimes we look at others’ lives and wonder when will it be our turn to receive all the good they are receiving. The question, “When will I get… a promotion, find a job, finish college, pursue my dream career, get married, have children, travel, or ____________________(fill in the blank)?” This line of thinking and this question signals that we may be lacking understanding of the most fundamental thing we must always remember.
That one thing to remember is: It is always your turn to receive God’s Good for you. Always. Not tomorrow, not yesterday, but today, right now, this moment. You have to turn to your Good and recognize that it is already here. Your Good is literally just a new thought away, like our friend Janice Campbell of Receive Your Life (www.receiveyourlife.com) says time and time again on her Podcast show. Her May 7, 2015 show, “There Is Nothing Wrong With You” and May 14, “A Glimpse of Your Value” speaks right to this subject. She delves into how we can turn resentment into power to create and receive all that it is that we want.
Another show that gives us more insight is Everyday Attraction Podcast (everydayattraction.com). The April 24, 2015 show “Dream Big and Let It Flow” reminds us there is no waiting on our desires. You can enjoy them in the entire co-creative process – from the birth of the desire, to the physical manifestation, to the memory of experiencing it. Your desire is a desire before it’s in the physical form. “Living in Receiving – How to Get Into the Receiving mode” May 8, 2015 show describes how we have to be in “receiving mode” and to be attuned to the “divine nudges” that God pushes you towards your Greater Good. The May 15, 2015 show, “To Perceive Is to Receive” shows us how sometimes what we are looking for is right in front of us – we just have to shift our perception to actually see what’s unfolding.
Your ability or inability to receive is what is allowing or not allowing you to get what you want. Your divine time to receive is right now! You are literally just a thought away from having it. The creative thought of what you want IS having what you want, right now. Now, mix some faith, knowing and understanding of the Universal nudges placed in your mind/heart and you’ve got yourself a gift to receive in the physical form.

Your Fertile Ground: Fertilize Your Manifestational Soil

Image courtesy of Flowers Background Means Growth And Beautiful Garden, by Stuart Miles, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net.
We have to fertilize our thoughts and lives with righteous seeds. Seeds that will take root, blossom and sustain all the dreams you have. To fertilize your dreams means to take time and space to feed your soul with practices and prayer. What are your fertilization methods in your own lives? Have you neglected your garden? A richly fertilized soil will produce a mighty, strong fruit continuously. Weak and neglectful tending will yield poor results.
- Be thankful. Be thankful from the time you wake up, until the time you slip into your sheets to go to sleep. Be relentless in thanksgiving – inward and outward. Be thankful for the tiniest of details to the loftiest dreams fulfilled.
- Pray. Pray all the time to yourself and out loud. It doesn’t have to be all pomp and circumstance, with a bible and rosary in hand (but hey, if that works for you, go for it). The Universe is listening to your prayers, so be mindful of your prayers and what you are calling into your life. The emotions in prayer are the Universal language and can move time and space. Be a relentless, praying Being.
- Play. Have a good time doing whatever it is that feels really good. Many of us have forgotten to have fun along the way. That’s okay, you can start having fun this moment. Laugh! Allow the inner child to lead for a little while. For me, sometimes it’s writing all day. Other times, its hanging with friends. Sometimes its listening to live music, or sitting on the beach. Play! Something as simple as being playful on how you execute your day can turn the mundane into a fertile playground. Check and monitor your attitude throughout the day until you are used to having a positive disposition.
- Meditate. Just five to ten minutes each day is a healthy dose. We make time to watch trash television, to gossip, or to play Facebook games. But, are we taking time to reboot our minds? Use one of your 10-15 work breaks to meditate. Do a walking meditation, or book a conference room to meditate, or meditate at your desk. Morning meditations are an awesome way to start the day, but don’t beat yourself up because you don’t do meditations when others deify morning mindfulness. Meditation anytime of day is fine, and some even find nighttime mindfulness to work better for them than morning time. Find a time that works for you and stick to it.
- Generate new ideas. Are you creating and generating new ideas? Some fun ways to generate new ideas is create vision boards. I am going to try a new idea of having a book of vision boards with an 80 pound sketch pad (edit: 80 pound refers to page thickness), with themed vision board pages. Themes can include any area of my life that I’d like to view images of to support goals in those life areas. Another idea is to write out your goals and dreams in each area of your life in a journal. Scratch off what you manifest as evidence of your creative power. Driving or commuting is a great time for new ideas to pop up, so keep a recorder (on your phone or a handheld one) to easily capture those ideas that come to you.
- Visualize. Visualization is a potent fertilizer of dreams and it’s easy to do. When you visualize states of being or desired experiences, it makes it easy for you to allow what you are visualizing to come, easy for the Universe to respond, and easy for you to receive it. Over time, you will visualize more often, and will see faster results for manifestations to blossom.
- Claim success. As opposed to always assuming you’ll never get what you want or focusing on what you don’t want, shift your focus on claiming what you do want. Claiming success gives the Universe no choice but to give you success. So many times we shoot ourselves in the foot by second guessing ourselves, allowing negative self talk to take us a down a few notches. But, the person who claims success is usually the one that reaches success. Practice claiming the good in your life and watch it manifest sooner than you’d ever could imagine.
- Be open. Your blessings may not come in the package you thought it would or should, but that doesn’t make it less of a blessing than if it came in a package you thought would be better. Remember, your job is to nurture and tend to your dreams by guiding them with affirmative directions, so if you’ve done your job, you do not need to be anxious over every single outcome that doesn’t appear favorable. Some people can see the blessing in every thing – because there really is a blessing in every circumstance. Be open to all the possibilities that come your way, letting your intuition guide you to act only on what’s in alignment with your values and desires. Being open is a person who was fired then later find a better suited job that makes them ten times more happy than the one they got fired from. The unopened person will wallow in the sadness of getting fired, whereas the one who is open to all possibilities quickly rebounds by thinking and doing things that take them to their next level. Don’t let present circumstances thwart your trajectory.
- Be grateful. A grateful person is an abundant person. An abundant person honors the manifestational cycle by being grateful first, receiving second, and being grateful once more. Gratitude touches every positive, emotional electron in our Being. Gratitude signals to the Universe you’re grateful for what you have, and you’ll have more of that, please. To kick your manifestation into high gear, be grateful for what is here and what is yet to become. Gratitude communicates to the Universe that you recognize, acknowledge and accept the blessings that are coming to you, small or grand. Keep a gratitude journal and the things you were grateful for that day. The journal will remind you of how blessed you truly are and to see what can be added each day.
Just as the farmer tends to his apple orchards, he doesn’t see apples on his trees now, but he knows the fruits are coming. He keeps his soil fertilized and gives the trees what they need in order to flourish and grow. He handles the tending, and God handles the rest. It’s all about working in concert with the Universe.

Stop Worrying About the “How” and Just Be in the “Now”

Image courtesy of amenic181, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Your job is to generate and to allow your creative thoughts to come, shaping matter into manifestation. To nurture creative thoughts by being fertile ground for them to sow and grow. To be an allowing vessel for blessings to flow to and through you. To be ever present in the now is to slow down enough to savor what is and to be confident in what is to yet to be.
God/The Universe’s job is to handle the “how” in bringing forth the manifestation or your creative thoughts and ideas.
Your “now” lays the foundation for your tomorrow. If your “now” is filled with worry for the “how” of things you want to create, all you are creating is more worry about not having what you want. We live in affirmative universe, that gives us what we focus on and believe. To effect change in one’s life, one must look at what they believe and are focusing on.
Let your “now” be filled with gratitude and appreciation. Let your “now” be filled with peace and creative moments. Let your “now” have times of respite and reflection. Let your “now” be void of dissatisfaction and boredom. Your “now” should have no room for boredom, dissatisfaction, anger or resentment.
Don’t prematurely pull up your creative seedlings, by allowing doubt, worry, and fear to uproot them. Be like the farmer who tends to his plants, but doesn’t hover over and crowd them. The farmer is patient, all the while knowing that what he has planted will grow in its own time.
The lover lives in the “now,” the worrier lives in the future, and the naysayer lives in the past. The naysayer relies on information about their life from what they’ve seen and only what they’ve seen. The worrier relies on information on fears of what they cannot see. The lover relies on the love they are experiencing right now and will continue to experience. Be the lover. Lover of creativity, lover of life, lover of all there is.
Know that all is truly well and working in Divine Favor for the best life has to offer you. Resolve to enjoy life, right now, and to refrain from needlessly stressing over things, for stressing will never bring what you want closer to you.

Spotlight on Podcast Everyday Attraction: The Path of Least Resistance

Image courtesy of Maggie Smith, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
The Podcast, Everyday Attraction, hosted by Rae Zander and Heather McKay Novak is always chockfull of Law of Attraction wisdom. Their February 6, 2015 Podcast, titled The Path of Least Resistance, moved me to write a blog post of the highlights from their show. They always find the most delicious, awesome Abrahams/Esther Hick’s recordings and distill it into something palatable and easy to digest.
Here are some highlights and discussion points of the Podcast:
Resistance is like going up-stream when everything around and through you is pulling you downstream. Resistance is the constant railing against what is naturally trying to just be. Where are the currents trying to steer you to go? Likely not upstream – so why be so hell-bent on going that way when there’s an easier way to go?
Resistance is vibrational noise, distracting all of your senses.
Once we let go of and stop resisting, we become what we want and what we want comes easily to us. There’s no efforting or trying to force what we want to come – it’s all about reducing resistance and allowing it to come to you. What you want is always coming to you. You do not have to effort towards it.
Our job in the manifestation process is to be joyful. Our resistance barometer is how we feel – if we feel good, then generally, our resistance is low and what we want will be able to easily move into our realm of possibility. If we are angry and frustrated, this tells us there’s some resistance in a particular area(s) that needs to be examined and eradicated.
Resistance is trying to tell you something! Listen and move accordingly.
It’s not about waiting to be okay, or about being worthy to get what you want. It’s about having compassion for ourselves and having some perspective on any and every situation that comes up. It is having open perspective that allows you to see a situation for the blessing it really is.
What is your point of attraction (POA) set on? Are you focused on what you don’t want? Is it time to shift your POA focus to something that feels good instead? Just because you are letting go of something that is angering/depressing/frustrating you, doesn’t mean you’re giving up. It means you’re shifting your POA to what it is you do want to attract.
I loved when Rae said we need to become expert soothers for ourselves. Ask yourselves in any given stressful moment how you can sooth yourself. Having compassion for yourself by allowing your emotions to guide you and your self-talk to steer you back to focusing on what it is you do want.
Compassion for one’s self leads to having gratitude for what has caused us to resist. There’s valuable information we can glean from when we are resisting – pay full attention so you can know what it is and how to let go of it.
Remember, things always work out for your greater good. It is up to you to allow the Universe to bring that good to you – whatever it may be. Learn to release and loosen the grip on having to control everything. Your life of ease depends on it.

Manifesting and Allowing

Image courtesy of Serge Bertasias Photography. Beautiful Landscape of Scottish Nature, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net.
What’s manifesting and allowing?
It’s about shaping your inner and outer environment, making your life-force supple and ready to receive that which you’ve created in the metaphysical world with your creative thoughts. Sometimes you have to quiet the mind, exercise and rest the body, and watch your words in order to be an allowing vessel of your manifestations.
It’s about allowing your creations to come through you into the physical world.
It’s about having a grateful heart, for what is, what has been and what will be.
It’s about awareness of your thoughts and emotions. Are your thoughts serving you? Is your emotions trying to tell you something?
It’s about affirming what it is you have and want and releasing what you don’t want.
It’s about knowing there’s a seasonal cycle for everyone and everything. To resist resisting the seasonal changes that naturally come with everyone and everything.
It’s about managing resistance and understanding contrast’s place in your manifesting process.
It’s about recognizing that your here and now was all attracted to you, by you.
It’s about not plucking your fruits too early, before they’ve had a chance to fully ripen.
It’s about surrendering to patience, while persisting in action steps and right thoughts as you are creating your life.
And, most of all is it’s about walking and talking as if you know you are in a loving, supportive Universe, one that is patiently waiting for you to mold it with your very Being and Spirit.

Law of Attraction at Work: Musu’s Season of Manifesting a New Job

The blog, Abundant Life Initiative was on brief hiatus, but I was still initiating an abundant life – more on that in future blogs. I’m back and I have brought along some friends who are initiating their own abundant lives.
Today, Musa Bangura shares a personal story on manifesting a new job – Law of Attraction in theory into practice. Check out Musu’s own blog at New3Creation Writing – http://new3creationservices.wordpress.com/, New3Creation Wellness – http://new3creation.blogspot.com/ and Twitter: @new3Creation. Thank you very much Musu for your contribution to AbundantLifeInitiative.
My Experience with the Law of Attraction
March 10th, the day I made a decision. It was another turn in this journey of life. I was tired and frustrated with my present situation as far as my career went. It felt like I was stuck beneath a glass ceiling where I could see the greener pastures but just couldn’t breakthrough to get through to them. My upbringing taught me the principles of Christianity and how I had to pray and have faith for anything I wanted. Well, life has taught me it doesn’t exactly work that way. The concept of praying and waiting was wrong and there was more to it than that. I remembered a previous conversation I had with someone about the Law of Attraction and decided to look it up and research it. The concept of creative power and placement in the universe just struck me and I decided to try it for myself. I had reached a point when I was determined to make changes, especially if it meant going beyond my comfort zone.
So on this day in March, I grabbed a notebook and pen to make a list (I’m a list person). But I didn’t simply write down what I wished. I wrote down what was going to happen. You see, I realized that it was going to take more than wishing…I had to tap into a place of knowing. I will explain. I wanted/needed a better job ASAP. I was working hard and doing my best to stand out and hopefully get recognized for it, but that didn’t get me anywhere. I had been looking for a promotion for years, but it felt like I was going around in circles, just getting minimal pay raises on an annual basis. I had been on interviews and impressed recruiters, but there was always someone who would beat me at the very end of the process. So I was at a point where I would no longer wish, because I knew what I wanted, which was to be promoted. I had worked for it, I knew my worth and I knew what was supposed to happen for me. That’s what rejection and disappointment did to me – they didn’t consume me. They had indeed built me up. Now I was at a point where I could write down “I have my promotion” on the top of my list. Once I saw it on paper, I began to ingrain it in my mind to the point where I would visualize myself sitting in a new office at a new job. I did it every day as I continued to apply and go on interviews. Then in the second week of April, I got a phone call for an interview. I jumped at the opportunity to go for it, with the excitement of finally getting the job offer I wanted. The interview went well and it would’ve been a move up for me, but I wasn’t fully satisfied. The salary was definitely more, but not the actual increase I envisioned. I continued to envision – seeing myself in the job that I actually wanted.
May 15th – there was another job interview lined up for me. By this time, my mindset had started to change. There was a new sense of confidence because I was taking time out of each day to see myself in the new place of promotion. It became easier to block out the negativity I was facing in my present situation. I knew what I wanted to experience and I was preparing myself just for that. The interview went well but I still had some inner battles to fight. This job was ideal; the pay, exposure and office set up were everything I was looking for. Yes, they were impressed with my experience and knowledge, but would they hire me? I had to consistently fight the self-doubt and fear and remind myself of where I was headed. This was the hardest part, what I like to call “the in-between” where you’re in the middle of the beginning and end point of a goal you’re reaching.
May 23rd – I received a phone call for a job offer. I was excited, but not thrilled because it wasn’t the job I was actually aiming for. It was the job with the lower pay. I hadn’t heard from the actual job that I wanted but was determined to land that one. So even though I accepted the job offer, my thoughts were still towards the position I actually wanted. I hadn’t heard back from them but I still continued to meditate on where I was headed. As far as I was concerned, I was in my actual promotion. As the next couple of weeks passed, the company that gave me the job offer was ready to give me a start date. I wasn’t ready to give them one. I kept stalling them and was very slow to return their calls. At some point, I finally called them and declined the offer even though I hadn’t heard back from the preferred job yet. Simply put, I wanted that second job and would not rest until I heard back from them.
June 4th – I received a phone call that confirmed everything for me. I was offered a job at the company that had everything on my wish list. I was elated that it finally happened, especially since I knew I had worked towards it. The Law of Attraction definitely came into play and worked for me. This experience gave me a new sense of myself and capabilities. I learned a beautiful feature of my mind that I wasn’t aware of before and it felt great.
So why did it work? Why did the job finally come through for me? There were several things going on as I used the Law of Attraction to make things work:
- I wrote it down. Writing is powerful in many ways. Writing down a particular goal can put it in motion because you’re seeing it on paper which puts your mind to work.
- I was aware of what I was creating. A lot of the times we want things, but aren’t aware of what’s involved with what we want. With this promotion, I knew there were higher standards and more responsibilities so I had to prepare myself for that. Now that it’s here the transition has been smooth and successful.
- With meditation, I connected with the creation and made it a part of my mind and soul. I did this every day, sometimes twice a day especially before I went to bed. I wanted that vision to be the last thing on my mind before going to sleep.
- I welcomed the fear. Yes, I didn’t fight the fear because I learned that it was normal. Fear is just like any other emotion and there’s nothing wrong with experiencing it. I just made sure I didn’t feed it and let it control me or my situation.
If you’re looking to apply the Law of Attraction to an area of your life, be sure to have an awareness of yourself and clearly define what you want. I could’ve settled for the first job, but it wasn’t what I saw while meditation. I made the goal very clear and didn’t settle for anything else. The same can happen for you – or even better.

Freedom Consciousness: Part Five – Freedom to Be Your Authentic Self

Image courtesy of Serge Bertasius Photography, published on 01 November 2013 Stock Image – image ID: 100214130, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Your light wants to shine through, but your filter system is cluttered with debris. Debris of people pleasing, of being okay with being dissatisfied, of compromising. The debris gets caught up in your Authentic Self filter and is making it difficult for your Light to shine through.
When we are belittling, minimizing, downplaying, or oppressing our (or others’) life’s desires for practicality and familiarity, we are cluttering our filter. You want your Authentic Self filters (belief systems and actions) to be un-gunked as possible with debris that is not serving you. Your Light will always try to shine through, but help it out by releasing the beliefs that limit or bound you.
Are you free to be who you want to be? Are you allowing others to be who they want to be? What or who is dimming your inner Light?
We have to be gutsy in our journey to bliss. To be gutsy is to sometimes be the unpopular voice in the room. We have to be our own advocate and the voice of the voiceless. We have to stay focused on that which we truly want, versus focusing on the worldly noises and distractions.
We are blessed to be on life’s journey to fall in love with ourselves, others, and life itself. When we find ourselves not at peace and unhappy, we need to see why we are choosing a less vibrational match than what we truly want to be aligned to. Too many times we are surrendering our power to the external, which leads to our unfulfilled potential and untapped power. If we are relying on others to shape who we are or how to feel, we are simply going through life on someone else’s direction and not our own. We came to this planet to direct, guide, and steer our life – there is joy and everlasting peace in that freedom!
This is YOUR life! Stay grateful for what is making you happy and aligned. Stay present and remember to set your intentions (write, say, and believe) to what you’d like more of in your life.
If you are not investing a few minutes each day in joyously imagining, visioning, writing about how your Authentic Self, you’re missing out, my dear ones. Aren’t you worth it? Your Authentic Self craves your attention and direction.
Imagine a life where you wake up, and you say what’s on your mind, feel how you want to feel, do what you want to do, and be what you want to be. Now, think about things that keep you from shining your inner Light brightly. Are there people who cause you to shrink or retract your Authentic Self? If so, imagine who you would become without those things or people who are not in alignment with your freedom flow. This is how you can assess whether or not people or situations need to manifest into something that IS in alignment with who you really are and what you’re about.
So many times, we are reacting to external circumstances, not ever taking time to set intentions for what is to unfold. That constant reaction inhibits us from being free to be our Authentic Selves.
We try to change external situations to align with internal desires – and we’re hurt when nothing we want manifests or lasts. Your power is in the Internal First, the External will follow.
There’s no room in this human life experience for incessant people pleasing or niceties, especially if it’s compromising your Authentic Self. You want don’t feel like doing something? Don’t. You want to cut all your hair off or grow it long? Do it. You want to be creative and wouldn’t mind being paid to be, be it. You want to be more spiritual or you’re not feeling too enlightened, let it all hang out. Do you. Be Authentic, and the rest will surely follow.

Freedom Consciousness: Part Four – Freedom to Dream Big

Image courtesy of pixtawan, published on 19 February 2012, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
The definition of a dream: A strongly desired goal or purpose.
It takes courage to trust, and trust evolves into faith and knowing. So, for those who are in the shaky first steps of their spiritual journey, it may seem farfetched and ridiculous to dream big. If we remember to first sense what it is we want, believe it will come, then the natural step is to trust and allow the Universe to bring what you’ve dreamed of into fruition.
Where many of us get tripped up is in the trusting and allowing. Some of us may get tripped up in missing the divine signals from the Universe to take action or to be still. While others get tripped up in not dreaming at all.
When was the last time you took inventory of your dreams? Dreams do not have to be lofty, out of reach and only for the select few who can achieve them. Dreams are a strongly desired goal or purpose that you can have. You can first have it in your mind as you daydream about it, then you can later have it in your reality. Finally, you can have it in the memory of experiencing the dream in reality.
What does your dreams say about you? Are they in alignment with the essence of who you are? Or, are they symbols of someone else’s reality? Your dreams should reveal a lot about who you are and where you’d like to be. Are your dreams authentic or generic – soul or ego driven?
You will know when you have an authentic or ego driven dream by how it makes you feel when you think of it. Whenever I think of an ego driven dream, like when I used to desire buying large homes, I felt a slight pang of anxiety from wondering how it was ever going to happen, then worried how I’d take care of and fill those homes. When my dreams shifted to wanting a cozy, warm space, that was perfect for my family and a sanctuary for myself and others, I felt peace and a knowing of already having it in me – my authentic dream.
Dreams that are in alignment with your soul will come to be. Dreams that are ego driven may or may not come, but in time, they may not be sustainable if they are not in alignment with your life flow and the essence of who you are.
Here are some ways to stay in touch with your dreams and to make them a reality for yourself and others:
- Create a dream journal and scribe every single dream you have. Periodically read your journal’s pages – when you feel good and when you feel less than good. As you grow, so will your dreams, both in manifesting and your faith they will come true. In time, you will see pages of dreams fulfilled and your dreams will also become more tailored to who you are and where you want to go.
- If you are in the shaky first steps of having faith your dreams will come true, look to your smaller dreams to blossom so you can start to have faith in the bigger dreams. Baby steps in your dream making will help you build the trust and faith in Divine Spirit to hasten your dreams to come true.
- It is okay to start with small dreams, but don’t remain in a place of limiting your dreams to small ones. Dare to dream big, so the Universe has more ways of getting Its good to you.
- Action – deliberate, good old fashioned baby steps towards your goal. Leaps are wonderful, but baby steps will get you there, too.
- Thank God for placing those dreams into your heart and be thankful whether they have manifested in physical form or not.
- There’s varied advice on whether or not you reveal your dreams to others. I see the benefit in holding your dreams close to you, just as I see the benefit in sharing them with others. It is all in how you feel about sharing your dream. Some are meant to be known immediately by others, while other dreams need to remain close until close to fruition. For me, I do both. Many of my dreams, I share with others so a) my dreams can escape the confines of my mind and b) to encourage others to dream as well.
- Honor your dreams by acknowledging them, celebrating when they move in the direction of manifesting, and dwell in a state of mind that creates more and more dreams.
- Do not be a dream crusher to others – instead, uplift others by encouraging them to pursue their dreams and celebrate with your friends on their accomplishments. It is people’s dreams and pursuits of their dreams that makes the world better. And, what makes the world richer are those who support others in making dreams come true.
We are blessed to have the ability to dream. So, I dare you to dream wild, dream often, dream big!

Blog Series: Freedom Consciousness

Abundant Life Initiative’s next blog series explores freedom consciousness. We will explore the following:
- Freedom in your spirit
- Freedom in your affairs
- Financial freedom
- Freedom to dream big
- Freedom to be who you want to be
- Freedom to choose
So many of us know and experience the physical form of freedom, but are we toting that same freedom consciousness in other areas of our lives?
- The first installment is Freedom in your spirit. What does it mean to be spiritually free? We will explore how many of our old belief systems adopted from our teachers and parents’ own spiritual interpretations shaped what we believed. Do these old beliefs still serve you, or are they limiting and minimizing who you are as an evolved person? Some beliefs may still work, while others may need to be let go. In this post, we will explore how religion and limiting beliefs shape and many times hinder a person’s spiritual growth instead of evolving or enhancing it.
- The second post discusses freedom in your affairs. Your affairs include your personal and professional experiences. Are you enjoying your job and where you work? If not, why? What about your personal relationships and experiences in your everyday life? Let’s explore what makes you feel more restricted and less free in your business and personal matters. What will it take for you to feel a little more free each day?
- The third blog installment discusses financial freedom. Some people seem to have it all and never have to worry about money. There are those who do not have a lot of money and express how rich they are anyway. Then there are those with or without money that bemoan what little they have. Abundance is more than just money in the bank, it is maximizing on what you do have, while making spiritual and physical room to receive more from the Universe. The best part of the abundance cycle? Sharing what you have with others! We will explore different ways to look at your situation so you can become more grateful for the financial freedom and abundance you do have.
- The fourth blog post explores freedom to dream big. Dream big, but take measured, action steps to get to what you want. Dreaming big, then bigger, then biggest prepares you to receive more. Often people are too afraid to dream big, for fear of getting let down. Are you constantly dreaming too small or becoming too narrow in your search for what you want to manifest, limiting the Universe to give you bigger and better? Lets find ways for you to begin to dream big and dream often.
- The fifth installment discusses freedom to be you in any and everything you do or encounter. Do you find yourself changing your tone and personality from person to person, and then losing your own voice in the process? What is it about you that makes you run away from becoming the person you truly want to be? Knowing your worth allows you to stay true to yourself and your values. We’ll explore how to always be your authentic self and why it’s good for manifesting.
- Finally, the sixth installment deals with the freedom to choose. Choice and free will is God’s gift to mankind. My people, we can choose! Now, it is time to learn how to practice this freedom and to rely on your intuition to always guide you to where you want to go and where you need to be.
I will include blogs and Podcast recommendations to further deepen our understanding of ways to incorporate more freedom in every area of our lives. I love hearing from my readers, so please share your thoughts on the upcoming freedom blog posts or suggest other topics we can discuss in the future.

Lighthouse to Your Soul: Your Focus and Your Words

Image courtesy of Serge Bertasius Photography, published on 05 September 2012
Stock Photo – image ID: 100101374, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Thoughts are powerful – especially when boosted by focus and intention. Your spoken words, no matter if they are dominated by positive or negative thoughts, will send signals on what you intend to manifest.
You have to be vigilant in watching your focus and your words. What you primarily focus on, is what will take root and manifest. Refrain from uttering anything that you do not want to manifest or perpetuate.
As you send negative words out, the people you are speaking to are receiving and resonating their own feelings about your negative speech and vibration. So now, you’ve involved others into your negative creative process, which hastens the undesirable manifestations to come and cycle about you – until you are ready to shift your focus onto something more desirable.
Instead of sending negative words into the Universe, send positive ones. Catch yourself before you say something that lowers your or someone else’s vibrational energy. Positive words have the same ability to magnify and resonate your intentions, just as negative ones do, too.
If you must dwell on a negative emotion, thought, or word, do so quickly and understand that you will be wrapped up in that problem for as long as you wallow in it. Instead, shift your focus to your desires, to feeling what it would feel like to have a solution – even if you don’t know what the resolution will be.
There are thousands of thoughts and it is not easy to monitor every single one of them. However, spoken words can be monitored. How you choose to perceive and receive information is also within your capability. Choose wisely.

Default Creating, Part Four

Image courtesy of prozac1, published on 17 May 2010 Stock Photo – image ID: 10016666, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Default creating is when we do not set an intention on what we’d like to create, and instead, our random, unchecked thoughts guides and shapes our experiences. It is not to say that all random thoughts are bad or that intentional thoughts are good. But, you will have a much smoother ride in life if you are setting your focus and intention on what you do wish to create, rather than going on the whims of outside forces and random thoughts.
There is never a wasted moment, thought, or situation. Whether we perceive a thought as negative or positive, there is wisdom, insight and guidance in that thought, shaping and molding our experience. The contrast that we feel when we have an undesirable experience is just guiding us towards what we do want to create.
We are dynamic expressions living in a dynamic Universe. There are moments when what we deliberately created represented what we wanted at that time. There are instances where we have created by not doing anything, or operating in default mode.
We gain new information and new insight, which may result in adjusting and realigning to new ways of being and thinking. God knows your true desires and you should know that nothing you’ve created is not a blessing to you. Even when you’ve deliberately created good health, and now you have a disease. The disease is a gift, whether you deliberately created or whether old thought patterns and beliefs brought it to you.
Here are some signs that you’re operating in default mode:
- There is no time in your day, even five minutes, where you are quieting the mind and focusing in on what you want.
- Many, unexpected and disturbing events, from minor to major pop up in your life and you can’t pinpoint how or why they appeared.
- Your emotions are high and low, and especially is swayed by outside influences.
What is very helpful is we can always turn off the default mode and start setting intentions on what we’d like to create right now, so that the next second, minute, day, week, and so on is what we’d like to see unfold, instead of random manifestations.
There will always be some contrast in our lives because not all of thoughts and emotions cannot be checked, and that’s okay. It’s how you manage the contrast in your life that shapes how your deliberate creation will unfold for you.

Weaving Gratitude Into Deliberate Creation, Part Three

Image courtesy of Supertrooper, published on 10 September 2013 Stock Photo – image ID: 100200370, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
A dose of gratitude goes a long way in life, especially when we are affirming what we already have and what we want more of. The emotion of gratitude is how we communicate to the Universe our appreciation for what has been given.
Gratitude signals we are in a place of receiving and acceptance. To be in a place of receiving is a blessed thing – always. Even when we receive what we perceive as negative situations – like traffic, disease, debt, or divorce.
The trick to appreciating the undesirables that pop up is having compassion for yourself, recognizing when you created what is now a present day annoyance, you were using old spiritual modalities or not creating with intention, instead creating by default. Also, what may seem “negative” could very well be holding your biggest blessing yet.
Examples:
- A person who has to file for bankruptcy – on the surface seems like a devastating thing to have to go through. It would be easy for that person to get into a cycle of self-pity. But, after a fresh start, the person was able to rebound and find their true selves in the midst of what looked like turmoil and failure. I’ve known people who’ve faced bankruptcy and now live very abundant lives. The once bankrupt person is grateful for going through the valley of debt to reaching the mountain high of true abundance and prosperity. Just google success stories following bankruptcy – you’ll see countless examples of renewal.
- Or the cancer patient who prior to being diagnosed, was working sixty hour work weeks and chasing someone else’s dreams of what their life was supposed to be instead of following their own divine path. The patient survives and is now living their authentic life, healthier than ever. The disease signaled their physical body was no longer able to sustain a life void of real peace and purpose; a body and mind only motivated by trying to please others and keeping up with the Jones. The patient is able to be in a constant state of gratitude for what was and now is. The old them died and a new state of being emerged through the illness.
It is when we wholeheartedly open our hearts in gratitude, that our perception of what is widens. We can see the gift in every single thing and experience we have. We can see beyond bad days and heartbreak, because when we are open to receiving and grateful for what comes, the blessings buried in an undesirable situation is revealed and we are able to move in a direction towards what we want, versus staying in a place of constant reaction and despair. Be grateful for the journey as well as the destination.
As ever-expanding Beings of Light, we should understand the power of gratitude and its role in any and everything we do and experience.
Take Aways:
- Gratitude is paramount in manifesting.
- When saying affirmations, always infuse it with gratitude, whether you are affirming what you’ve already received or what is on its way to you.
- All experiences, whether we intentionally create them or was default creating, are shaping the clay of our lives into what we want to create.
- Just like molding clay, sometimes you have to smooth over and start pressing on in a new spot. The clay is bumpy in some areas, smooth in others – doesn’t mean it can’t still be shaped into what you want it to be (or don’t want it to be). Be grateful for having this experience to mold your life, even if you can only mold a small area.
- Remember to express gratitude for the big and small things that happen – be an example for others who may have a harder time experiencing gratitude. In time, you will find you cannot go through the day without feeling and expressing gratitude and neither will the people around you.
- Gratitude is a nice way to center your thought and intention. When you’re grateful, there is little room for doubt, anxiety, disappointment and frustration.
- Gratitude opens you to receiving more of good vibing feelings and peace.
- Gratitude helps with having compassion for yourself, so you don’t stay in a place of constantly trying to “right” something that seems “wrong.” No need to dwell in what was, be grateful for where you are now, so you can move on to bigger and better manifestations.
- If you have to start with something as basic as “I am grateful for each breath I take,” start there. In time, you will be able to show gratitude for what’s to come, because you practiced gratitude with what you know to be true.

Practicing Deliberate Creation, Part Two

Deliberately creating experiences we want is fun and fulfilling. Practicing deliberate creation on small things is how you feel more comfortable creating bigger things.
May 7th I woke up and affirmed I was going to have a great day and eat a delicious lunch. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted when I first woke. I also knew I didn’t want to travel far, nor did I want to pay a lot of money for my meal.
Around eleven AM that morning, I stopped by a friend in another department to say hi. She had a bag full of containers and she explained she and some co-workers were having a late Cinco de Mayo celebration and they were having a nacho bar. I realized at that moment, I wanted nachos. She said she’d save me some fixings. At lunch time, my friend brought the nacho fixings to my desk. I went to our office’s break room to heat up the meat and cheese and realized I could really use some olives and green onions. Just as I said that, some other friends from the claims department came in the break room and heard me say that. They invited me to their “Siete de Mayo” celebration and had all the olives and green onions I could want. There was even more offerings at their table. I fixed myself the most delicious nacho plate – ever! 🙂
Let’s break it down:
- I set the intention and affirmed I was going to have a delicious lunch that I did not need to travel far or pay a lot for.
- I trusted I was going to receive a delicious lunch.
- I did not fret over how it was going to happen or worry over how I was going to pay for it. I relaxed into the knowing that it was already manifested and waiting for me.
- I received the offerings from friends. They felt good sharing their food and I felt good receiving it.
- What I received was far better than if I could have taken it all into my own hands, spent $10 on some nachos from a restaurant.
- I was grateful before, during and after receiving my delicious lunch.
- I enjoyed every bite of it.
There are areas in your life that deliberate creating comes naturally for you and others where you need practice.
Take baby steps and you will be richly rewarded. Although you can take leaps, sometimes our faith and trust has to catch up to the desires that wants to be birthed through us. It can be painful when what we want seems too far out of reach and then we try to believe that it will come. Instead, take baby, deliberate steps to creating an experience.
Remember, it is not your job to worry about the “how” something you want will manifest. All you have to do is set the intention and allow God to fill in the details.
Your homework:
Manifest something by deliberately creating it. It can be a deliberately creating the perfect parking space, or all green lights on your way to work, or an unexpected surprise. Whatever it is, try it and make a note of the experience so you have a resource to remind yourself how powerful and creative you are.

Deliberately Creating, Affirming and Allowing, Part One

Image courtesy of dan, published on 31 January 2010
Stock Photo – image ID: 10012029, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
I was asked about deliberate creation, from http://justmeandyoukid.com/: I still don’t understand deliberate creation. How do you deliberately create a great day? Is it a self-mantra that you repeat, an attitude? How does this happen for you?
I am thankful for the questions above because we will answer each of them this week as we delve into what deliberately creating our life is all about.
The answer is when we make a conscious decision to deliberately create our thoughts and our lives, everything changes from that moment forward. The Universe conspires to bring forth your desire. Things will begin to shift to bring you closer to what you desire.
To deliberately create is to decide and to say to yourself what it is you wish to create (and to believe, have faith that it will be done). You can affirm aloud or to yourself. You can write in a journal or paint it in a picture. You can create a dream board or daydream. All of these are modalities in deliberately creating what you want.
The key is to be honest with yourself about your life’s desires and values and stay focused on them. This way, you are not wasting time creating a mish mash of what you do and don’t want.
We can haphazardly create our lives, with no focus. We all know what our lives look like without deliberately thinking about what we want to create.
Think of a business plan, as compared to deliberately creating. You can write a business plan, but do you do not know all the specific results that will come of it, nor can you anticipate all that may come up. You know generally that your business plan will garner certain results, as opposed to not having a business plan at all. The same with an outline for a novel or an actual outline of drawing. You know generally what is being created because you’ve created the outline. Now, picture your drawn outline image, and God coming in to fill in the colors and depths of that image. That is how deliberate creation works.
You are creating the outline, which is the what and why, and God is filling it up with the who, when, where and how. Always remember your role and part in deliberate creating. Your job is to deliberately create what you want, remain in a place of allowing and gratitude, remain faithful and then to be thankful when you’ve manifested what you want.
Your unique desires are direct expressions of God Spirit, so of course God says “Yes” when you ask and affirm what you wish to create.
Deliberate creation and allowing work hand in hand. When you deliberately create (your business plan or novel outline), information is sent out to the Universe to bring forth what you desire back to you. When you allow the fruits of that creative thought to come back, the easier it is to manifest what you want. Sometimes the fruits do not look like what you wanted to bear from your deliberate thoughts. But, always remember there are different vantage points to things and situations, and the blessing is always there, just not yet revealed to you in a way you can comprehend or see yet.
It is important to think about your values and desires for your life, and listen to your intuition. Your intuition will guide and tell you when you are hitting resistance or when you are flowing with Divine Spirit.
I will leave you with a list of my own affirmations that I said this week and last, so you can see the modality of affirmations in play in deliberate creation. Borrow or create your own and say them regularly.
- I am an extension of God.
- For in Him, I live, and move, and have my being.
- I am abundant.
- I am well, whole, perfect and complete.
- I am love.
- I am peace.
- I am free.
- I am creative.
- I am a friend.
- I am triumphant in everything I do, no matter the outcome.

Everything’s Coming Up Roses!

Spring time roses in my backyard – so pretty!

Red roses blossoming in my backyard.
This week, we will be exploring deliberate creation, in conjunction with allowing, to manifest what we want. We will kick off this deliberate creation series with an area of my life that I have little resistance in creating – my work life.
The photos of the roses above demonstrate the ease and balance of deliberate creation and allowing. A seed was once planted – deliberate creation – and the seed was allowed to grow. Below is my diary entry where I made the decision to deliberately create and allow a glorious work day. As we move into the series, I will discuss what deliberate creation is and how to manifest using it.
Thursday, May 1, 2014:
I woke up grateful and ready for the start of the day. I declared it was going to be a great day, full of surprises and it was! I arrive at work and my manager sent an email to our team, informing that I won two arbitrations that I wasn’t sure I was going to win. Then, I got the big news of my arbitration career. I filed arbitration to recover $175,000 on a claim against a certain huge insurance company (the one with the cute, little gecko). In the world of insurance claims, this was huge and I broke a record on the most recovered in one claim through arbitration.
It felt like a long shot to prevail in the $175,000 case and to win was huge! I jumped and laughed out loud. We high fived and I celebrated. It was the grace of God and me setting the intention on having an awesome day. But, it didn’t end there. As we were leaving for the day, my manager said she received an email from the same auditor that reamed me in another audit (I discussed the first audit in another blog and it is a compliment to receive an email from an auditor), saying I did a great job on an arbitration filing and that I won that case, too!
All the pieces worked together. I deliberately created an awesome day and allowed the new day to unfold in its own way. Each time I touch a new arbitration filing, I set the intention that only the best outcomes for me will manifest. And, time and time again, it does. I will now practice deliberate creation in other areas of my life where resistance is more dense and prevalent.

Asleep and now Awake at the Wheel

Sunday, April 27, 2014 – Value: Family time and Keeping It Simple
Roads change, people change. We have to be awake and aware of where we’re going. If we’re not careful, we can be on course to an undesirable exit, a bump in the road or a collision. To stay on the highway of life, we have to flow in the right lanes and be awake and aware so we can adjust the speed and lane we’re traveling in accordingly.
I was driving down a once familiar road and realized at the last moment, it had changed. The exit that was once on the right was now on the left. I remained calm and became aware of where I was and where I needed to go.
I realized I had been asleep behind the wheel of life for a little while. I was distracted and complacent, despite my desires still percolating in my soul, needing me to rise up and merge into a faster moving lane. It is in the moments of near rear end collisions that we realize it’s time to adjust speeds and change lanes, so we can get to a place of cruise control, even better, control the speeds we want to travel in this life. That is also when we become conscious again and drive with eyes wide open, the same goes for how we move in this life.
Yesterday, I focused on all of the limiting beliefs and things I haven’t done. I haven’t meditated in a long time. I haven’t looked at my vision board in awhile. I haven’t focused on my values and desires. I’ve been spending money without really being dialed into my finances and values. But, that was yesterday.
The road can be wrought with ruts and new twist and turns, (some I saw coming, others that surprised me), but with awareness, I can take evasive action and keep on riding, through the bumps and all.
Today is a new day. I am grateful for yesterday’s sleep and today’s awareness. Today, I’m awake and present in the moment. Today, I have reclaimed my power.

The Happy Factor
Chances are, you’ve heard Pharrell Williams “Happy” song one, two, or 100 times and either love or hate the song. It seems an equal amount of people who love or loathe the song and I can’t help but wonder if it’s just more than the song being played over and over or if there’s an underlying consciousness that is driving some people to feel a certain way towards the entire subject of the condition called happiness.
Pharrell sat down on Oprah Prime on the OWN Network for an interview on Sunday, April 14, 2014. He was moved to tears over how his song had touched many people, and it gave me goose bumps. He loves what he does, making music that not only moves him, but moves others, too. He is a shining example of happiness.

Constance Arnold had author, Jonathan Robinson on her show, titled, “Finding Happiness” (iTunes air date Friday, April 11, 2014). Jonathan wrote “Find Happiness Now: 50 Shortcuts for Bringing More Love, Balance and Joy Into Your Life,” discussed ways to get happy in your individual life right now. He has researched the top methods for individuals finding happiness modalities. He suggest making a list of things you enjoy doing and then calculate how many hours are they spending each month on things they love and hate to do. By employing just a couple of minutes per day towards what and who we love will begin to shift us towards a higher level happy consciousness.
Happiness raises a person’s vibrational energy, and higher level feelings, such as love, feeling prosperous and abundance hangs out in higher vibrational energies. To be happy, is to be thankful and grateful for what you have now. When you can be happy in any circumstance and condition, you are more aligned and in a place of allowing more happy things to easily come your way.
Hanging out in lower vibrational energies, such as in envy, shame, guilt, defeat, rejection, and depression, makes it more difficult to be in a place of allowing things to unfold. When you’re depressed and busy trying to survive, you are likely not in a place of allowing. In low vibe frequencies, people tend to try and control what’s outside of them and feeling a sense of failure when they find that outside forces are out of their control and people are constantly letting them down. It becomes a vicious cycle of trying to dump more and more into feeling better from the outside in, instead of from the inside out.
When you’re happy, you don’t try to control things outside of you – you simply adjust your internal barometer to what you energetically need. Life is an ebb and flow of energies, and they are not defined as good or bad. Too much high flying energy can have you feeling breathless and unable to catch up with even the best of life and too low vibes can have you out of alignment as well.
Many people can’t stand happy songs or people they feel are too “chipper.” They liken these songs and people to being “fake.” Upbeat people genuinely feel happy and invest in cultivating more happiness into their lives. Cynics don’t wear their happiness outwardly and tend to cultivate more experiences solidifying that outward expressions of happiness are fake, while brooding and complaining is being “real.”
For those who don’t like the “Happy” song or understand why people do like it, I am curious as to why. If it is genuinely for taste reasons, I’d like to know that, too. But, I have a feeling it goes a lot deeper than a Top 40 hit being overplayed – I think it represents the belief many of us hold that no one can really be that happy. Well, Pharrell is showing us that we really can be that happy :-).

Gestation of a Dream

Image courtesy of amenic181, published on 30 August 2013 Stock Photo – image ID: 100197880, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Definition of Gestation: (1) the process by which something (such as an idea) forms and develops forms and develops. (2) conception and development especially in the mind (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gestation).
Depending on how big or small a desire is, it will have a gestational period – a time for the budding and expansion of a dream.
During the gestational period, there will be aches and pains, as the dream takes root and grows. There will be seasons of slow growth, and other times rapid transformation. There will be times of tears and times of triumph.
All the changes, the peaks and valleys, are necessary in birthing a dream.
Understanding the gestational period is imperative in finding patience and peace when you feel like your dream is futile.
You can deliberately create ways to hasten the evolution of your dream, but nevertheless, your dream will go through a gestational period.
It is up to you on how you behave and believe through this time that will either make or break your dream’s unfolding. You always have choice.
You could choose to kick and scream your way through the gestational process, each step more agonizing than the first. Or, you could choose to take the observer’s chair and enjoy the process, even during times of frustration. Kicking and screaming, fighting, and sulking will not speed up the manifestation, it will only grind it to a halt.
What births a dream in a more aligned and easier way is by appreciating the moments – big and small – that are shaping your dream. Being grateful is paramount in gaining more of what it is you are grateful for. If you are grateful for your dream, even before you see it on the physical plane, you are signaling to the Universe that you love this unfolding and align to it, so more of it can come to and through you.
Taking a few minutes each day to visualize your dream manifesting is vital as it gives you inspiration on what small or big steps you will take to push your dream. Visualization and prayer is the watering of your dream. You still need to feed your dream with inspired action, but the first step is to plant it (thought) and to water it (prayer/meditation). There will be times where no action or visualization will occur, but your dream has taken root and is growing.
When you have quiet moments where you are being One with God, you can then be divinely led step by step to birthing your dream. You will be given all the tools necessary to deliberately create what you want.
Women who complain throughout their entire pregnancy find more reasons and ways to complain and it feels like eternity before their baby is born. The woman who enjoys each moment of her and her unborn baby’s growth, finds time moves quickly and she has more reasons to celebrate the changes leading to her baby’s birth. It is the same thing for those of us birthing a dream – woes and complaints won’t expedite your dreams, if anything it only complicates and procrastinates the joy you are divinely given to have right now.
Ask yourself whether you are allowing your dreams to go through their natural gestational period. Are you always hurrying through the process or are you savoring each moment moving you closer to the birth of your dream? What are some ways you can celebrate right now where you are in your dream’s journey to fruition?

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Image courtesy of Stuart Miles, published on 12 March 2014 Stock Image – image ID: 100246972, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Do you enjoy the puzzles in your life, moving the pieces as you are intuitively guided to do?
Or, are you railing against every moment?
On the other hand, are you passively living life, not making any decisions or letting life pass you by as you tune in to electronics/drugs/food/gambling and tune out life?
Or, are you floating with ease?
As each new situation bobs into your stream, do you splash and push it away, or do you allow it to come close to you?
Are you afraid of what comes into your stream, forgetting that you called upon the very things that have come to you?
Or, are you amused by what you see and tickled by the opportunity to bring it into your existence?
When we are creating life, not only are we creating the puzzle pieces, but the puzzles themselves. It is not outside forces creating your experiences – it is your thoughts and beliefs shaping your experiences, all before it manifests on the physical plane.
The great illusion is everything external or outside of our bodies is shifting and shaping us, but it is always the other way around – your moment to moment thoughts and states of being is what’s creating your reality.
Even when adversity is playing out in your present moment, have fun with it. Say, “This situation has come into my life. I see it and recognize the gift that it is. What building blocks rise from this gift?”
Your present situation is really a building block to the life you want. You may as well have a good time as you are building! Be glad for the experience of having puzzles to solve in your life and if you’re tired of trying to figure things 0ut – relax! Ask questions, and allow the answers to come to you. Stop focusing on why things are hard – you believing this situation is difficult is a major part of why it is! Instead, focus on other things in your life that came with ease and if necessary, list them, so you can be reminded of how quickly and easily you manifest things and situations that you do love and want around you.
Being happy and grateful for all your experiences is laying down the foundation of joy that will sustain all that you build on top of it.
All things are moving me towards my greater and higher good, including this present situation. I move through this present situation with ease and grace, oftentimes with a genuine smile on my face.

Stop Fearing What You Truly Want

Image courtesy of thepathtraveler, published on 23 May 2012, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
A lady I know repeatedly told herself (and everyone around her) she doesn’t want kids, yet, that’s what she focuses on in many conversations. She has been telling the story of how she’s scared to become a mom and she’s received just that – no child or family to call her own. Her closest friends could see the pangs of jealousy cross her face when yet another one of her friends got married or had a new baby. Yet, she was so comfortable telling her story and too prideful to change it, that she’d rather hang on to that old fear rather than explore the possibilities of what her dreams could mean for her.
I used to fear to dream because I was scared of let down. I wanted to inoculate myself from the pain of not receiving what I really wanted in my life. I was limited in my understanding that what I want has already been created and I just needed to be awakened and to allow it to manifest through me. I failed to realize that when I focused on my fears, rather than my dreams, all I was getting was more of what I truly feared and less of what I wanted.
In the case of the lady, she feared being let down and alone, more than she feared becoming a mother, but she is not honest about where her fear is stemming from, and until she is, she will remain in a holding pattern, not able to reach the life she truly wants.
When it comes to your dreams, are you being honest with yourself on a) having a dream? b) are you wearing other people’s desires for your life, instead of wearing and embodying your own? c) are you moving through your fears, taking faithful, measured and even small steps towards your dream?
The answers will tell you whether or not you’re allowing fear to run your life and whether that fear is an accurate out picturing of what you really are afraid of. It’s okay to have and recognize when you’re afraid, but do not confuse that with trying to head off disappointment if your dreams don’t come true. Hedging your dreams all the time, fearing they will never come true will manifest exactly what you fear – not having your dream. Instead, shift your focus, envision and feel what it would be like to already have your dream fulfilled. Then, let go of the worry over the outcome.

Synchronicity of the Universe

Image courtesy of fotographic1980, published on 18 July 2013, Stock Image – image ID: 100185203, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
Wikipedia definition of Synchronicity:
Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events as meaningfully related, where they are unlikely to be causally related. The subject sees it as a meaningful coincidence, although the events need not be exactly simultaneous in time…The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be connected by a causal line, they may also be connected by meaning. A grouping of events by meaning need not have an explanation in terms of cause and effect.
Look around. See all the ways we connect? Amazing isn’t it? The Universe has the power to reach out to us and us to It, synchronized for manifesting connections. If it’s too far fetched for you to look for miracles, try, instead to look for the synchronicities in your life, those coincidences that speak to you and inform you that you’re headed in the right or wrong direction.
The virtual world is one of the endless ways we experience synchronicities. Bloggers, how does it feel to be a part of a movement? Internet surfers, how does it feel to receive all the information you could ever want instantaneously? On your terms, creating virtual connections.
In our thoughts and experiences, notice how certain themes come up at the same time, again and again. It is no coincidence – we are all connected to Divine Spirit and it is through this connection that we find we are all experiencing similar thoughts and occurrences, almost at the same time.
The phenomenon of one person writing a piece on alignment then seeing evidence of their beliefs in other written pieces, or their favorite Podcast host is talking about that very subject, or the Reverend has a sermon on it, or someone gives a book on alignment. Some would say all of that is coincidence, but I say it is much bigger – synchronicity – evidence of our connection to the Universal flow of life.
The Universal Flow sends us synchronicities to show us we’re on a Divine Path and in sync with the Universe and its Inhabitants.
Have you ever noticed coincidences around a particular experience? Did you choose to ignore those synchronicities? Or, did you recognize a pattern, that caused you to look outside and within?

Weathering the Storms – Bonus Blog Post on Being in the Flow

You have to be like the tall and mighty palm tree in a storm – rooted in the earth and flexible enough to sway with the wind and weather the storm.
I listened to a Podcast where an author said we should not over analyze what we’re feeling and to just go through the emotions. She said not to over study spiritual books and to let the information land where it may. For the most part I agree, as being in this human existence one will experience all levels of emotions. But, if you find that your reaction is always filled with dread, anger, or depression then you must take some time to evaluate where the source of angst is coming from before you can move easily, joyfully and peacefully through this life. Life happens, but again, if your first reaction is always a negative emotion, that needs to be self-examined.
Here’s an example: A woman cursed out a driver that cuts her off. She is ticked at her boss, pissed at her husband, angry with her children, and every time the phone rings at work, she answers it with a sense of dread. She is always reacting in a negative way. Now, to tell this woman she should just feel the emotions is not serving her. She needs to look at the source of her anger. Is it at her husband because he is not pulling his weight? Or, is it because she is feeling unfulfilled? Or, is she chronically depressed? As you can see, it can be a myriad of “whys” as to the true source of her pain, but unless she does a little detective work and discover what the underlying issue is, she will not be able to flow through life with ease and grace. Ultimately, whatever the reason she’s angry, it begins and ends with her.
If you are angry, allow that emotion to run its course, but don’t wallow in that feeling for hours and days on end. If you are grieving, by all means, allow yourself to feel it through to other side. If you’re sad, let it run its course. But, overall, you should still have a pervading sense of joy, peace and the knowing that you are taken care of by the Universe. You should still be able to be present in the moment and not always be living in your head and analyzing past hurts and pains or over protecting yourself from potential future hurts.
It is your perspective or how you look at life’s circumstances and situations that help you quickly shift from lower frequency, negative thoughts to helpful, healing thoughts. Every thought and situation you find yourself in has the power to clarify and expose how to get closer to what you really want in your life experience. Be grateful for the awareness of the message you’ve received. Now you know something you did not know before and that alone is worth going through something that is less desirable to get to the most desirable life imaginable.
Your life will be colored with all sorts of shades of emotion: happiness, sadness, and every emotion in between – that’s what makes a beautiful life portrait. By no means am I telling you to slap a happy band-aid on your life or to go to the other extreme of over analyzing your emotions. There is a balance and it is up to you, the steward of your life’s journey, to find that balance.
Going with the flow is two-fold – you are the captain of your ship and steering it in the direction you wish to go, but allowing the storms to come and go, with an inner peace and knowing that all is truly well. Even if you get off course, it is not the end of the world to get back to the flow, in fact, I encourage you to try to enjoy the journey of getting off and on course again.

In the Flow of Life Part 5 of the Alignment Series
I am studying Eric Butterworth’s In the Flow of Life and thought I’d share wisdom found in this book.

I am studying this great text on being in alignment with the flow of life, by Eric Butterworth. You can get this in digital or paperback form on amazon.com or barnesandnobles.com.
Whether you’re feeling good or bad, ask yourself whether or not you’re in the flow of life. Taking a quick moment to gauge where your heart and mental space is will help guide you back to the flow of life. You will begin to recognize your Inner Knowing and be able to discern the difference between outside voices and the still, small voice of your intuition speaking to you.
The Inner Knowing is the same innate knowing birds have when it’s time to fly north or south – they just know. The same innate knowing is in you. You know your authentic self and that you’re in an ever abundant Universe, but sometimes that Divine Wisdom is covered by lies and limiting beliefs that dull that light inside you.
Keep a small journal you can carry with you to notate the blessings you encounter each day, which can be scribed evidence of your alignment with Source.
Use a recorder to capture thoughts, feelings, blog ideas, and passages for the novel I’m writing. Cell phones have app recorders, so the next time you have a moment you want to remember, record it.
We have to deconstruct old limiting belief structures and rebuild with new beliefs that serve us. Whenever there is a diminishing thought, there is an old belief structure that needs to be torn down. When you find yourself out of alignment with the flow of life, remember all you have to do is take a moment, step back enough to see the situation for what it is – a blessing that is guiding you back to the direction you want to go in. Become the observer of you and your situation.
Here is what Eric Butterworth had to say:
“…If we do not build on the consciousness of our source in the universal flow of life, we try to make the law work for us in the form of the good we desire. Actually, there is no way we can make divine law work for us or for any one. Can we influence gravity to work for us or the sun to shine on us? All we can do or need to do is get into a right relationship with them.
“What is called the “law of healing” is simply the eternal flow of life that is present as an allness even within an illness. The “law of success” is simply the flow of ideas and creativity that can turn failure into productivity and lack into abundance. We do not make the law work through prayer or treatment. Divine law is always working, even if we may be frustrating its flow through our attitudes and actions.”
Divine Law is indiscriminate and it is you or I that has to align to the flow of life – not the Universal Laws bending and changing for an individual person. Just as we’re aligned with the Law of Gravity, we can get our internal navigational system aligned with Law of Attracting, the Law of Allowing, or the Law of Healing.
Prayer transforms our mind, heart and spirit so we can easily align with the Flow of Life. The Flow of Life will continue to move regardless of whether we believe or not and whether we pray or not.
Focus on what it is you that you do want. If it’s world peace, you can’t serve two Gods – peace and war, by wishing (lacking) for peace, while all you are focusing on is the strife in the world. You have to align to peace, to become the peace you desire. On a less grander scale than world peace, you can get into the flow of what you want in your own life and to steer your focus on what you don’t want to what you do want – it is really that simple.
God wants us to recognize our power, because it is then we are able to truly shine His light through our gifts and talents to share with others, so we all can benefit, grow and be utterly happy.

Being in Alignment Hasten Your Blessings Part 4

Image courtesy of Salvatore Vuono, published on 04 May 2010 Stock Image – image ID: 10016066, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
Life is easier when you’re in alignment than when you’re not. Not only is it easier for you, it becomes easier for the Universe to be in alignment in providing for you and answering your prayers. When your conduit to God is flowing, then it is easy for you to be an inlet and outlet to all that you are manifesting.
There is a Universal flow and it is moving, no matter what you’re focusing on. Picture yourself standing next to a fast flowing river and all the things you want and don’t want swirl about. When you focus on what you want to glean from that river’s flow, you will become a magnet to it and have aligned with the Universal Mind. What you don’t want is also floating in your flow, and if you’ve aligned to it, it will come to pass in your life.
Be careful not to wish for something, for wishing is only focusing on the lack of not having it already. Instead, know what you’ve prayed and desired is created, waiting for you, just as you are waiting for it. Allow things to come to you in its own time, and trust that it will. It is that trust, faith and knowing that will HASTEN your blessing. That is a powerful distinction between wishing and manifesting.
What you’re manifesting is being created moment, by moment, all trying to get to you as soon as possible.
Imagine a cluttered, clogged conduit – probably difficult for things to move in and out of. Now, imagine a conduit open, pure and clear and how much easier it is for things to move to and through you.
You’ve built momentum going down stream. Now, picture yourself trying to go upstream, against the river’s flow, momentum is slowed to a crawl. Which is easier? You could choose to go upstream (the flow of least desire), or choose to go downstream (the flow of high desire).
Build momentum in the direction you want your life to go. Momentum is like an avalanche – it starts out a small pebble and rolls into a gigantic ball, rolling and collecting everything in its path. Take baby steps toward your desires. Eventually, your baby steps avalanche into something big.
Ever wonder why celebrities or the wealthy seem to get more and more of what they want? It’s not because they are lucky, it’s because they’ve built momentum in the direction they wanted their life to go. They’ve exercised their faith muscles to the tenth power. That is also why it can be catastrophic for a celebrity on a downward spiral because their momentum is used to moving at a fast rate of speed.
A personal example: I’ve been very distracted at work lately. I kept focusing on the distractions and how I wasn’t getting anything done. I decided to change my focus onto being successful in increasing my productivity. I spent a few moments just feeling what it would feel like to be successful in increasing my work output. The next day, I increased my productivity, even with an occasional distraction. I took the focus away from what I don’t want and shifted it to what I do want.
In matters of the heart, alignment helps you to attract and retain loved ones in your life. All you have to do is be the love you wish to have and align to feelings of love. When you’re out of alignment, all you can think about are the obstacles in attracting, being compatible and retaining a mate. When you’re in alignment with the flow of life, love (in all forms!) comes easily to you. The solutions to making a relationship work come effortlessly – it becomes easier to go with the flow in relationships.
Your mind is a receptor and effector, receiving information and sending it back out to the Universe. When you’re out of alignment, your thoughts begin to send mixed messages to the Universe, resulting in mixed or undesirable results manifested on the physical plane.
Take a few moments each day to focus in on whether or not you’re in the flow of your life, living out your highest good. If you’re not, then ask yourself “what have I been focusing on?” Shift your focus to the desire and away from the distraction. Have faith your blessings are on their way to you. From there, you are well on your way to experiencing alignment in your flow of life and be ready to see instant results.

What Does It Feel Like to Be In and Out of Alignment? Part 3

To be in alignment with Divine Spirit is a delicious, everlasting and fulfilling endeavor. All things are in sync and there are coincidences abound. Every step you take feels like the natural next one to take and you feel pulled and divinely guided to the next rung in life. Even when your present experience is not desirable, you have peace and a knowing that all things are moving to and for your Greater Good. You have little to no anxiety.
You know how to exercise your forgiveness muscles. You have a strong sense of health and wellbeing, even when others around you are ill in the mind and body. You find when your mind drifts to something less desirable or unpleasant, it is easy to move it back to creative, positive and loving thoughts. The things and experiences you love seem to come to you easily.
You somehow have all the time and resources to complete the things that make you most happy. Even when the bills aren’t paid or you lose your job, somehow you are sustained and taken care of – your peace is still present, despite your present circumstances. You know that the creative thoughts you have now are aligning you moment to moment, creating a beautiful more aligned future. It is easy for you to recognize we live in an unlimited, abundant universe that is just waiting for you to awaken to ALL of your potential. You are always have an attitude of gratitude and you find yourself deeply appreciative and touched by all the gifts you’ve received. You feel balanced in your giving and receiving of your gifts and talents.
To be out of alignment is a source of great anxiety and uncertainty. You feel at the whims of outside forces and other people’s energies. You have an overriding sense of being out of control. You feel tired or exhausted all the time, as if you’ve worked or thought overly hard on something.
You are constantly chasing something or someone, or it feels like something or someone is chasing you (ie. unpaid bills, lack of money). You’re always catching colds and other illnesses and you find there are always sick people around you. There are some people and situations that you could never forgive or have compassion for. There’s a sense of not having enough, or always feeling a sense of lack in an area of life, such as money, love, or fulfillment. You don’t want to give what you have because you fear it will leave you with nothing. You have a hard time receiving gifts, help and adulation from others.
You feel as if every unlucky thing that could happen always happens to you. Many times you feel like a victim of your circumstances or other’s people’s actions. There is a lack of confidence and faith in yourself and God – He’s let you down too many times or there’s a lot of self doubt about what you can offer this world in exchange for an abundant existence.
Can you think of and share other examples of being in and out of alignment, both mentally and physically?
Part 4 we’ll discuss why being in alignment with Divine Spirit hasten your blessings.

Why Alignment? Part 2

Image courtesy of Evgeni Dinev, published on 22 July 2010 Stock Photo – image ID: 10019041, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
To be in alignment, is to be in trust with the Universal Life Force that is God. The knowing you experience when you’re in alignment is as natural as taking a breath. But, just as you can hold and block your breath, you can hold and block your alignment. In time, when you’re cut off from breath or from alignment, you suffer.
All we have is the present – the so called past is the past, and the future is being created in this moment. All that is unfolding in your life, from your thoughts to your experiences, begins and ends in your mind, and it is steadily creating your future.
Why bother with being in alignment? You could choose to go against the grain, to go upstream in life. Many of your desires that you created at one time in your life, or that you focus on can be so strong, that despite how much you move upstream, they will manifest. But, over time, your connection to Universal Source gets clogged and you begin to ask if there’s anything more to life. There’s plenty more to life.
You could choose to release into the knowing that all is truly well and that you were sent here with all you need to be in this human experience and beyond.
Have you ever had a situation where you had to throw your hands up in the air, and decided to just “let go and let God?” And, once you let go of the struggle, the answers come to you and you find peace? Well, imagine all aspects of your life feeling like that. You can have a dialogue between you and God all day long, His voice guiding you step by step, after you’ve released to life flow.
God wanted us to be in perfect love and peace while we’re rolling in this human experience. He created us to be able to create our experiences first in our mind. It is imperative to understand the power of the Universal mind and to begin to harness it in your favor.
Part 3 we’ll discuss what it feels like to be in and out of alignment.

What is Alignment?

Image courtesy of Danilo Rizzuti, published on 26 December 2009 Stock Photo – image ID: 10010934, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
We all have a connection to God or Source Energy. That connection can be fraught with knots, bumps and muddiness. Or, that connection can be pure, untangled, and free-flowing. Alignment is your mental, spiritual, physical self being congruent to the connection to your Source.
When your connection is muddied with limiting beliefs, a need to always be the fixer or saver, doubt, worry, jealousy, and lack of direction, the flowing Grace of God takes longer to get to you what it is you want. Alignment is the easier path. You can always have a treacherous journey, but why, when you can have ease and flow in your life?
In order to be in alignment, you have to know why you’re here or your purpose, who you are, and your true, basic desires. This means you have to do some inner work, know your purpose and your true desires, for once you know them, you will then know when you are not in alignment. You also have to be confident in the inner voice inside you or your intuition. That inner voice is your Inner Guide speaking to you, guiding you step by step. Listen when you’ve asked for something and have faith the answers are already within you from your Source. When you believe, you realize there is no lack in your life, and alignment will occur from that belief.
Creating a vision board and allowing your Inner Guide to lead you to the photos and images to your board is one step to gaining clarity on who you are and what you want. You can also journal what makes your soul sing, your dreams and aspirations for yourself and the world around you. This can be a very fun process.
The pain comes when you are being and doing things that are out of “alignment” with who you are and what you want. Be a creator in your life, not always a reactor.
Here are some everyday examples of being in and out of alignment:
- As an adjuster, I volunteered each month as an arbitrator to hear liability cases, when other adjusters claimed they were too busy to do it. It was a part of my job that I enjoyed the most and wanted more of it. I put on my vision board images that represented doing arbitration full-time. When my claims adjuster bosses told me I needed to give up volunteering because we were getting too many claims to spare me once a month to volunteer, I politely, but firmly said, “no.” They backed off and allowed me to continue to volunteer. An arbitration specialist position opened up in a different department. I applied for it and was denied the position. A few weeks later, another arbitration position opened up. My intuition told me to apply for that position, despite my bruised ego from the first rejection. I ignored the ego and listened to my inner voice. I was hired and now work as an arbitration specialist, doing the very thing I enjoyed most from my previous job.
- The department I work in has a lot of people who work early shifts, like starting at six or seven A.M. Despite my own inclination to being a late morning person, I listened to my ego’s “should” voice. “You should start earlier so you can leave with the rest of the group.” I was coming to work on time for a while, but over time, my true, inner desire poked through when I was ten minutes late for work everyday. Today, I made the decision to email my boss to ask her to start at 9 AM. She agreed to it, and now I feel in alignment again. I could feel myself being out of alignment when I was rushing to work every morning, cursing out any unfortunate soul who dared changed lanes in front of me.
Get to know your desires and BECOME them, because they hold your power to staying in alignment. When you are in alignment, your true desires manifest. When you stop always listening to your ego voice, and instead listen to your intuition, you will find it easier to stay in your alignment with peace and happiness.

Resistance Reminds Us

See the rocky path in the picture? You see a tree in your path you’ll have to overcome. The path is ascending, getting steeper and the stones are tricky to walk on. You can see the tree’s roots jut through the stone, and the tree itself is large and all consuming this section of the path. You may choose to step over the roots, or even go around the tree. Your journey may be a little longer because of the reroute, but it is never something to regret. What matters most, is you mentally and physically on the other side of that tree, steadily moving upward and onward.
Resistance is a reminder that we are not in alignment within and outside of ourselves (more on what “alignment” feels and looks like in a future blog). Resistance can either be an ever present sense of anxiety and worry, or it can be those things and much more. Resistance is also a natural part of life – a gift to remind us if we want relief from a given situation, all we have to do is readjust and move towards a different path to alignment.
What areas in your life has a lot of resistance? Is it in relationships, family ties, career, health, or money? If you have any sort of angst when you think of an area in your life, chances are there is a growing knot of resistance there, trying to steer you to an easier path.
An example of resistance: someone trying to purchase a home and they keep running into roadblocks, such as financing falling through, the inspection finding a significant issue with the house’s foundation, a storm sweeps in rain that floods the first floor. Every obstacle is there, yet the ego mind keeps telling you to push through. What will your family and friends think if the deal falls through?
What is on the other side of resistance for the person who can’t will themselves into that home they fixated on? Perhaps a bigger, more beautiful house? How about a house with a small mortgage? Or one in a better neighborhood than the one you’ve set your sights on?
God Spirit knows your heart, what you can handle and what’s best for you – and knows the intention you sent out to the Universe to be fulfilled. God has the ability to see a better, higher way for you than what your tunnel vision has focused on. God gives you the gift of resistance, so you can have intuition whispering when it’s time to move on.
It’s important to recognize whether your ego is speaking to you, or your inner God advising you. Your inner voice will guide you to take pause, look and feel where you’re at and redirect your energy and focus. Ego will tell you to continue pushing no matter what, while the inner guide in you will say, “hey, let’s take a look at this – why so much resistance in this area?”
Resistance is the Universe’s way of expressing to stop bumping your toes on the same rocky step. We all can be hell bent on going in that one and only direction. Resistance is a push to awaken you to other options, to bigger and better alignment with that which you want.

Eliminating Limiting Beliefs in 4 steps

Last week, I discussed positive affirmations and reasons why they may or may not work. One of the obstacles to successful manifestation is a person holding a “limiting belief.” Limiting beliefs are thoughts we hold, whether on the conscious or sub-conscious level that limits or diminishes our experiences.
Affirmations are an awesome way to focus your mind on what it is you want to manifest, but a limiting belief will block your blessing.
Our thoughts and beliefs have power. Thoughts shape our feelings, which then colors our responses with shades of our inner beliefs, moment to moment. If we are proclaiming in one breath, “I am wealthy,” but thinking the limiting belief “I never make enough money” or “others are luckier in money matters than myself,” then we will never manifest a state of wealth, all because of the limiting belief. You have to eradicate the limiting belief in order for the positive thought to take hold and manifest.
- The first step to eradicating the limiting belief is quickly assessing your thoughts. Are you feeling a certain pang of guilt for whatever reason from a thought? Do you find yourself justifying why you’re in a negative situation? Do you blame others or situations as to why you’re in a less desirable experience? On the other hand, do you find yourself beating yourself up (“I should be further along in xyz by now”)? Do you find yourself agreeing with the status quo (“Only xyz people get high paying jobs.”)? Chances are, you are holding limiting beliefs in your thoughts. It will keep you in a stuck position – between what you don’t want and what you do want. Unless you have your thoughts in check, your negative beliefs will rule instead of your positive ones.
- When looking at an area of your life, write down all aspects of it – the good and the not so good. Give it the 360 degree view treatment, by looking at all its angles. A 360 degree view of your situation will reveal more than just the negative, lopsided lenses we seem to love to view our lives through.
- Relax and forgive yourself by realizing you are creating these moments, and they are here to teach and guide you towards what it is you do want. Just as you created a moment of frustration, you can create a moment of reflection and positive re-direction to a new, better thought.
- Don’t dwell too much on the limiting belief because it’s not necessary. All that is important is realizing one has popped up and begin replacing it with a new thought. Dwell in the solutions, rather than the limiting beliefs or the problems.
Take Aways:
- It is always about getting your mind and spirit into alignment with what you want.
- A limiting belief can be counted on to guide you to what it is you really do want.
- A limiting belief will cancel out a positive, new belief you’ve introduced to your mind.
- With practice, eradicating limiting beliefs will become easier, as well as calling on new, better thoughts to replace the old ones.
- Get comfortable with your inner thoughts, but don’t dwell in diminishing and negative beliefs. Instead, look at everything in your life from a 360 degree view.

6 Reasons why Affirmations don’t Work

Image courtesy of phanlop88, published on 25 November 2013, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Affirmations are a great spiritual and mental modality that help center your intentions and speak to Higher Source on what you have and what you are bringing into your physical reality. It is a bridge from the sub-conscious to the conscious. When your affirmations are in alignment with what you want – which is to feel great in all areas of your life – they help to shape your thoughts and shift the ”now you” into the “new you.” Here’s a list of ways to sabotage the effectiveness of affirmations and three quick tips to overcome these roadblocks.
6 Reasons why affirmations don’t work:
- Setting unrealistic or highly ambitious affirmations.
- Limiting beliefs that need to be rooted out so new belief systems can planted. An example of a limiting belief is “you have to work hard in order to deserve more money.”
- Listening to others on why affirmations don’t work. Many people will say they do not work, but it could be the naysayers were too ambitious, or perhaps they rarely said or believed them, resulting in failed results.
- Failure to say them on a regular basis.
- Failure to adjust your affirmations as your life changes (for the better!).
- Failing to believe what it is you are affirming.
2 Tips to Ensure Success with your Affirmations:
- Have your affirmations represent being in that which you are affirming. Use words, such as “I AM” “I HAVE” and if necessary, “I WILL.” This is not a hard and fast rule, as there are some that do not start with those beginnings, such as my favorite affirmation, “I BEGIN and END my jobs on my own terms.”
- Give yourself room to grow in your affirmations.” For example, saying “I am a millionaire” will likely not resonate with you as much as “I am EVOLVING into a millionaire” or ”I am evolving into a CEO of a successful company”. The subtle difference is the word “evolving.” It denotes you are moving toward millionaire status, but acknowledges you’re not there yet. The other example is “I work out everyday.” That sets a person who is just starting a workout regimen up for failure. Instead, say “I am healthy, fit and find ways to incorporate health and wellbeing in my day.” No matter what, believe your affirmation as fact, even if you may not be experiencing it yet.
- Be patient. It is important to be patient with yourself as you play with the affirmations modality. If you don’t see results right away, that’s okay. Oftentimes, we are unable to see what has already started manifesting in our life, hidden amongst all the things we do and don’t desire. Allow the blessings to come in their own time and trust they will.

5 Reasons Why Positive Affirmations WORK!

Image courtesy of Janaka Dharmasena, published on 04 January 2012, fromhttp://www.freedigitalphotos.net
We know negative affirmations work, because we can look around at all the pain and suffering amongst us and see them at work. What about positive affirmations? Here are five reasons positive affirmations work:
- When affirmations are created by the person saying them, they have more power and resonate more within that person. Come up with personal “I AM” affirmations you can use everyday.
- When believed and said on a regular basis, positive affirmations can change your whole outlook on a situation, therefore raising your vibration to a place of receiving that which you are positively affirming.
- Positive affirmations over time will curb and replace negative limiting beliefs.
- Positive affirmations are a quick way to center your thoughts during non-stressful times, such as during guided meditation, and stressful times, like when your boss sends you an email with a subject line, “we need to talk, meet me in my office.”
- Positive affirmations said in the morning will help steer your day towards what you’re affirming.
The Universe is ready and waiting to answer your affirmations with a resounding YES. What positive affirmation do you use to get you in a high vibrational frequency?

It’s never too late to pursue a life-long dream. I don’t care if you’re 80 years old. If you are reading this, then you’re breathing and of sound mind, so it’s not too late. Every moment you’re here is a chance to create and play in this life. You do not have to take a huge, big leap towards goals and dreams, although if you did, that would be awesome. To reach your dreams, you’re not required to take giant leaps. Taking a deliberate step every day, for 365 days towards your goal, will build up your dream in an amazing and powerful way.
See how it’s a win-win? You could take slow deliberate steps, or high flying leaps, but you’ll get there with ACTION. Big or small, take the next step towards your goal today.
The Universe will provide the “how” of getting you to your dream. You just have to dream it, have faith by seeing it real, and taking small or big action steps towards your dream. Think about other successes in your life. Chances are, it wasn’t dumb luck that got you in a winning position. There was an embryotic vision, a belief in its existence in your life, taking small action steps to getting it, and allowing your desired outcome to enter your life.
What is your dream? It can be anything. What is/are your action step(s) or goals for getting there? Dare to dream. Always.

Top 10 Podcasts for Law of Attraction, New Thought and Life Enrichment

Image courtesy of Iamnee, published on 19 May 2013, from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net
Podcasts are just as plentiful and fun to indulge in as blogs, only you can listen to them in your car, at work, or just about anywhere for a quick dose of inspiration. The following Podcasts can be located on iTunes and I strongly recommend them for improving all areas of your life. My life has been truly transformed by the following hosts:
- Constance Arnold’s Think Believe and Manifest Show. This is the hardest working life coach in the Podcastophere. While others were vacationing during the holiday break, Constance hosted a show during the week leading into New Year’s. She has a deep, southern drawl that draws you in and the guests she has are the leaders in New Thought and the Law of Attraction movement. This week’s show titled, “New Year Mindset for 2014,” provides life changing principles that are easy to implement. Check her out on iTunes or at her website at http://fulfillingyourpurpose.com/blog/tag/constance-arnold/.
- Rae Zander of Everyday Attraction. I love Rae. She has an amazing grasp on all things Law of Attraction, New Thought, and the Unity Principles and an ability to break down the high flying concepts to bite sizeable portions for ”everyday” folks. Join her as she sits on her “metaphysical porch” and discuss a variety of topics with her co-host. You can find Rae’s blog, as well as other providers of her Podcast, such as Stitcher and Unity Radio at http://everydayattraction.com/.
- Janice Campbell of Receive Your Life. Janice used to be a co-host on Everyday Attraction, which is how I found her wonderful show. She invites guests on her show and they discuss an issue in their life, and she gives them loads of food for thought with a New Thought spin. She has recently changed the format of her show, inviting guests on to discuss all topics pertaining to Law of Attraction, New Thought, and Unity principles or she provides an entire hour on teaching on a topic. All in all, she’s a great resource for gaining a better understanding of how to remove the layers of ill-fitting beliefs and replacing them with powerful thoughts. Check out her website at http://www.receiveyourlife.com/.
- Summer McStravick of Flowdreaming. In my Recommendations and Shout Out page, I discussed Summer’s Flowdreaming MP3s on weight loss and self love, but she also hosts a weekly Podcast, on a variety of subjects and guides us into an on air Flowdream on the day’s topic each show. She takes calls from callers who have a plethora of questions on life, love, work and money. Summer has the ability to empathetically feel what another person is experiencing, and for that alone, her show is gold. Summer has built a comprehensive website that is a must see, please check her out at https://flowdreaming.com/.
- Reverend Kevin Ross of Design Your Life. A local legend of Sacramento, Rev Kev, as he’s affectionately known, is a minister of a Sacramento Unity Church and he has great guests on his show, from spiritual leaders, to life coaches, to experts who discusses everyday issues with a Spiritual and New Thought foundation. He is funny and his show is one of the best quality Podcasts I’ve listened to. Check out his show times at http://www.unity.fm/program/DesignYourLife.
- Matt and Phil Show (LOA Radio). A refreshingly funny show hosted by two great guys who knows a thing or two about the Law of Attraction and Metaphysics. They tackle subjects honestly and I find their discussions and guests they host life affirming and enjoyable to listen to. They have a long roster of past shows that you can tap into to hear anything Law of Attraction and say, sex, or relationships, money, career, and so forth. A must listen to Podcast for those who want to learn how to apply it practically and meaningfully in their lives. Their website is http://mattandphilshow.com/.
- Lynn Crocker of Create Your Reality. A Northern Californian native and life coach, Lynn Crocker has recently captured my attention for having thirty minute Podcasts with some of the most enlightening guests on her show. One of my favorite shows was on the topic of using powerful thoughts to create your reality. Lynn’s website is http://lynncrockercoaching.com/.
- JJ, Terry and Belki of Live Out Loud Monday’s. This is a great show with a lot of energy and perfect for Monday mornings. I recently stumbled onto this Podcast, and very glad I did. Check out JJ’s blog, which also discusses the Podcast show at http://jjthelifecoach.com/live-out-loud-mondays.
- Reverend Heidi Alfrey of Let’s Get Naked. I love her tagline on her website, “Transparent Living Ministries,” and her show really delves into living an authentic life. To get to know Rev. Heidi better (aside from listening to her Podcast) check her out at http://heidialfrey.com/.
- Carla McClellan of Vibrant Living: Life Coaching With Carla. I enjoyed Coach Carla’s most recent Podcast, “Beginning the New Year!” Anything to get me amped up over the new year is a wonderful kick in the butt. I am always a fan of experts being guests on shows, and Carla has us covered. For a schedule of times to tune in, go to http://www.unity.fm/program/vibrantliving.
Podcasts have really helped me in my spiritual journey. I am sure you will find a go-to Podcast that will inspire you to live and be your absolute best. I’d love to hear from you on which Podcasts are the best.

Jubilant Expectancy
Courtesy of Facebook, YourBeautifulLife.org, message by Louise Hay
Jubilant: ju•bi•lant
ˈjo͞obələnt/ adjective: jubilant
1. feeling or expressing great happiness and triumph.
Expectancy: ex•pect•an•cy
ikˈspektənsē/ noun: expectancy; plural noun: expectancies
1. the state of thinking or hoping that something, esp. something pleasant, will happen or be the case.
To transcend a moment of unhappiness or an undesirable situation, we must hold on to jubilant expectancy of things to come. We should know that we can always rise above any situation, to forgive ourselves and others, and to hold steadfast to our purpose, with grace. We should know and expect the things we desire are able to come, maybe not easily all the time, but they are able to manifest. And, for that, we are triumphant. We can have great happiness of what has already manifested, and what is yet to manifest. This is how you keep your energetic vibration a match to what it is you wish to feel and receive in your life.
Resistance IS Your Friend
Courtesy of Facebook: Sonia Ricotti via yourbeautifullife.org and Melanie Moraga Photography
Resistance is as necessary as the free flowing feeling of being in alignment with your divine path. It is a part of your internal guidance system that tells whether or not you are bumping around in the night or guided more and more towards your purpose effortlessly. Resistance is not a good or bad thing – it is simply created because we may have a misunderstanding about a life experience. A belief, whether supportive or negative can help ease or restrict God flow energy in your life.
Take a look at how you may be resisting something or something seems to be resisting you and your plans. Resistance is trying to tell us that we are out of alignment. We are free to continue to rail against life and the situation before us, but there is an easier way if we’d like to take it.
It has always been advised to take the path of least resistance. But, there are many times when all we can do is hunker down in the resistance that has already come our way. We can’t beat ourselves up for the beliefs that created the resistance. What we can do is think new thoughts about a situation, and start to eliminate future resistance in an area of our life.
I have three personal examples of how resistance rose up and guided me back to my divine path.
1) A wayward, so-call boyfriend. Long before my beloved husband reentered my life, I was a dating Momma on a mission. I wanted to quickly bounce back into a relationship after a failed relationship with my sons’ father. A new man, “Calvin” was a guy I believed I could have a relationship with. I wanted a relationship badly, and hey, I was attracted to him and he seemed attracted to me. There were proverbial booty calls, but I convinced myself that we were moving towards love and hopefully, marriage. Well, Calvin had different plans. In fact, he really didn’t feel the same about me. No matter how sexy I got, no matter how flirty, clingy, standoffish I was, he’d go MIA for days at a time. I started to become insecure. One day, it became so painful to call him and not get a call back, I stopped. The resistance was too great to overcome. As painful as it was, and I picked up my pride and moved on, refusing to see him. When I finally let that relationship go, a beautiful thing started to happen. Other areas of my life blossomed – I got a promotion, I bought a condo for me and my boys and I started dating for the hell of it. Now, you all know where I ended up – married with the daughter I’ve always wanted. Calvin emailed me while I was eight months pregnant, saying he’d made a mistake and knew I was the one he should marry. I politely told him I’m happier than ever and I wish the same for him. I could have kept bumping around in the night for that man, but I released and let go so something bigger and more loving could come my way.
2) Real Estate Resistance #1. 2004 found many of us scrambling to get into the real estate game because of the real estate bubble. I finally settled on a condo that was too small and not really what I wanted. I wanted a washer and dryer, I got a shared Laundromat. I wanted my own carport or garage, instead, I got to share a garage with a stranger. I wanted an outdoor space to sit and sip on coffee, instead, I got only a tiny front porch. Everything went wrong with that deal. The condo wouldn’t appraise for the selling price, the house barely passed inspection, there were other inspections needed and the sellers did not want to make repairs because we were in a hot market. The last straw to the madness came when my lender told me I had some unknown credit debacle that needed to be cleared up and I threw in the towel. There was so much resistance and no peace of mind around the entire transaction, so I told my realtor I needed out of this deal. I luckily got out of it with my good faith deposit intact and moved on to bigger, and better and happier homes in my life.
3) Real Estate Resistance #2. I had outgrown the condo that I bought a couple of years after the first condo deal fell through. My family size had doubled – husband and new baby with two boys in a two bedroom townhome was not cutting it. I wanted desperately to keep my condo. I had completed six loan modifications to lower my mortgage, so I could rent it out, even at a loss. I found out that I’d be carrying quite a bit of expenses if I continued to own the condo. My kids needed space and I was about to lose my mind. I had railed so much against selling or losing the condo, that I lost sight of the big picture. The big picture was I wanted a home for us to be comfortable. The Universe and the Stars aligned, and I was able to short sell my condo without having it ruin my credit – I was lucky that I didn’t even have to default before short selling. I found a great house to rent from a great landlord, in a neighborhood close to my family. I ultimately rented a house for less than what I was paying in mortgage, insurance, utilities and taxes on the condo. The resistance I felt around this situation melted away. Next year, three years would have passed and I can qualify as a first time buyer again. I learned valuable lessons of attachment and detachment and how God always provides a way, if I allow Him to work it out.
As you can see, there are so many instances of resistance, but it really is your friend. Share some times of resistance and triumph, because your testimony helps others to be confident in knowing God is truly on their side, even while we bumble around in the night.
Next week, we will discuss contrast again. And, just in time for the holidays, we will discuss how to discover your values and desires, so that when you are in moments of resistance, you know how to quickly navigate back to your divine road.

You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be actually something which
I feel I might by no means understand. It seems too complex and extremely large for me.
I’m having a look forward for your subsequent publish, I’ll try to
get the grasp of it!
When I first got into Law of Attraction (LOA) and the New Thought movement, I, too thought it was just too much to grasp. After listening to some powerful coaches and experts on the subject, I realized that I was initially making LOA harder than what it was designed to be. Simply put, all that we could ever want to be or have is already inside of us – we just have to become aware and aligned to it. It was God’s gift to us. I liken it to breast feeding (I know, strange comparison). Breast feeding is something natural, but it takes some practice and learning the right techniques to get the hang of it. Thanks for reading my blog posts – I will be posting again, soon – I’m just in the middle of moving to a different home. Thank you, Kim
