To be in alignment, is to be in trust with the Universal Life Force that is God. The knowing you experience when you’re in alignment is as natural as taking a breath. But, just as you can hold and block your breath, you can hold and block your alignment. In time, when you’re cut off from breath or from alignment, you suffer.

All we have is the present – the so called past is the past, and the future is being created in this moment. All that is unfolding in your life, from your thoughts to your experiences, begins and ends in your mind, and it is steadily creating your future.

Why bother with being in alignment? You could choose to go against the grain, to go upstream in life. Many of your desires that you created at one time in your life, or that you focus on can be so strong, that despite how much you move upstream, they will manifest. But, over time, your connection to Universal Source gets clogged and you begin to ask if there’s anything more to life. There’s plenty more to life.

You could choose to release into the knowing that all is truly well and that you were sent here with all you need to be in this human experience and beyond.

Have you ever had a situation where you had to throw your hands up in the air, and decided to just “let go and let God?” And, once you let go of the struggle, the answers come to you and you find peace? Well, imagine all aspects of your life feeling like that. You can have a dialogue between you and God all day long, His voice guiding you step by step, after you’ve released to life flow.

God wanted us to be in perfect love and peace while we’re rolling in this human experience. He created us to be able to create our experiences first in our mind. It is imperative to understand the power of the Universal mind and to begin to harness it in your favor.

Part 3 we’ll discuss what it feels like to be in and out of alignment.

We all have a connection to God or Source Energy. That connection can be fraught with knots, bumps and muddiness. Or, that connection can be pure, untangled, and free-flowing. Alignment is your mental, spiritual, physical self being congruent to the connection to your Source.

When your connection is muddied with limiting beliefs, a need to always be the fixer or saver, doubt, worry, jealousy, and lack of direction, the flowing Grace of God takes longer to get to you what it is you want. Alignment is the easier path. You can always have a treacherous journey, but why, when you can have ease and flow in your life?

In order to be in alignment, you have to know why you’re here or your purpose, who you are, and your true, basic desires.  This means you have to do some inner work, know your purpose and your true desires, for once you know them, you will then know when you are not in alignment. You also have to be confident in the inner voice inside you or your intuition. That inner voice is your Inner Guide speaking to you, guiding you step by step. Listen when you’ve asked for something and have faith the answers are already within you from your Source. When you believe, you realize there is no lack in your life, and alignment will occur from that belief.

Creating a vision board and allowing your Inner Guide to lead you to the photos and images to your board is one step to gaining clarity on who you are and what you want. You can also journal what makes your soul sing, your dreams and aspirations for yourself and the world around you. This can be a very fun process.

The pain comes when you are being and doing things that are out of “alignment” with who you are and what you want. Be a creator in your life, not always a reactor.

Here are some everyday examples of being in and out of alignment:

  • As an adjuster, I volunteered each month as an arbitrator to hear liability cases, when other adjusters claimed they were too busy to do it. It was a part of my job that I enjoyed the most and wanted more of it. I put on my vision board images that represented doing arbitration full-time. When my claims adjuster bosses told me I needed to  give up volunteering because we were getting too many claims to spare me once a month to volunteer, I politely, but firmly said, “no.” They backed off and allowed me to continue to volunteer. An arbitration specialist position opened up in a different department. I applied for it and was denied the position. A few weeks later, another arbitration position opened up. My intuition told me to apply for that position, despite my bruised ego from the first rejection. I ignored the ego and listened to my inner voice. I was hired and now work as an arbitration specialist, doing the very thing I enjoyed most from my previous job.
  • The department I work in has a lot of people who work early shifts, like starting at six or seven A.M. Despite my own inclination to being a late morning person, I listened to my ego’s “should” voice. “You should start earlier so you can leave with the rest of the group.” I was coming to work on time for a while, but over time, my true, inner desire poked through when I was ten minutes late for work everyday. Today, I made the decision to email my boss to ask her to start at 9 AM. She agreed to it, and now I feel in alignment again. I could feel myself being out of alignment when I was rushing to work every morning, cursing out any unfortunate soul who dared changed lanes in front of me.

Get to know your desires and BECOME them, because they hold your power to staying in alignment. When you are in alignment, your true desires manifest. When you stop always listening to your ego voice, and instead listen to your intuition, you will find it easier to stay in your alignment with peace and happiness.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014 Recommendations

We’ve been exploring different themes, and this week’s focus will be on sustaining alignment with the flow of life.

I cannot recommend Rae Zander’s Everyday Attraction Podcast enough! Due to my work schedule, I never get to listen to her live Friday, 10 AM show on Unity.FM at http://www.unity.fm/program/EverydayAttraction, but her podcasts are still the highlight of my week. She has a firm grasp on all things New Thought, Law of Attraction and Manifestation. She and her co-host Heather, listen to Esther Hicks/Abraham workshop sound bites and have deeper discussions on raising your vibrational frequency to that which you want. On her February 7th podcast, she discusses how to get and stay connected with Source, “consciously and with focus.” Please check her out on iTunes for all of Everyday Attractions podcasts, but in particular her latest four shows. Her discussions will transform your life!

Reverend Georgia of West Sacramento’s Center for Spiritual Awareness,  recommended the book, “In the Flow of Life,” by Eric Butterworth. What struck me in Butterworth’s message was “the inlet and outlet of the Infinite Flow of God” is within you and me. We will always be an inlet of God’s energy, but we also need to be an outlet, otherwise, we get sick. To be in alignment is to understand that what flows and grows in us, must flow out.  I have purchased this book and will be posting my observations in future blogs. From the samplings and what Reverend Georgia had to say about this book, Eric Butterworth writes in a plain, beautiful way that really explains how and why we do best in the flow of life. Here’s a sampling of the table of contents:

  1. Living Life from Within-Out
  2. The Healing Stream
  3. The Reality of Affluence
  4. The Effusion of Light
  5. The Art of Getting Along
  6. The Wellspring of Giving
  7. Life Comes to Pass
  8. To Grow Old or Grow Onward
  9. Life, Death, and Rebirth

Matt & Phil’s January 28, 2014 show, “Understanding Allowing – What Is It? Why is It Important?” I am convinced that we all are connected through divinity and this podcast is timely and in alignment with the Universal message of finding and staying in the flow. Matt and Phil understands how to take day to day experiences and juice the metaphysical nectar from them, so we all can relate and understand. Shout Outs: Happy Birthday to Me!

Monday, February 10, 2014 Shout Outs:

I have just sat down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and my husband snapped a picture of me pre-dive-in.

My Shout Outs go to: Me! I exercised patience, persistence and peace when my plans for a birthday lunch fell through. I found a way to stay in the flow of life and to remain in alignment with my Greater Self, which is a birthday gift in and of itself. I did not allow my present circumstances to knock me off course or take my peace and happiness away.

  • I planned a birthday lunch for myself at one of my favorite crab eateries with my parents, sister, niece, daughter, son, husband and a couple of girl friends.
  • A rain storm blew in, so my husband and daughter stayed home.
  • My dad called in sick and my mom wasn’t going to get out in the storm.
  • My sister wanted to still go, but no sense in having her drive 30 minutes to the south side of town.
  • I went on my own to church and fantasized about crab all through the sermon. I left church and headed to The Boiling Crab, for a take out order.
  • I got to the counter, and realized my wallet was not with me.
  • I forgot my wallet when I changed purses (wondered why my purse was so light!).
  • The cashier and the manager refused to have my son text me a picture of my driver’s license or to call in an order over the phone – something to do with a lot of fraud in the area, etc.
  • I had my mouth and heart set on some crab. The old, younger me, would have raised holy hell. The newer, wiser, older me, was determined not to get out of my flow.
  • I went home, regrouped, ate a delicious sandwich, loaded up my iPod with my favorite radio host’s podcast and headed back to Boiling Crab.
  • I got my spicy sauced crab and shrimp (the Whole Shebang-mild flavor is to die for!).
  • I headed home, but first dropped off some crab to my dad’s and swung by the grocery store for a bottle of wine.
  • I set up my collection of crab eating utensils and toasted the occasion.
  • I ate until I burst.
  • I watched the season premier of Walking Dead. I fell asleep a happy woman.

With the exception of the blue and black crab cutters from The Boiling Crab, the rest of my utensils are from Crate and Barrel.

Here’s to my newer, more patient and happier self.

The spiciest, yummiest snow crab legs!

Sacramento’s Boiling Crab. This is how good this crab is: I knew all I wanted to do for my birthday was eat crab from The Boiling Crab.

Resistance Reminds Us

See the rocky path in the picture? You see a tree in your path you’ll have to overcome. The path is ascending, getting steeper and the stones are tricky to walk on. You can see the tree’s roots jut through the stone, and the tree itself is large and all consuming this section of the path. You may choose to step over the roots, or even go around the tree. Your journey may be a little longer because of the reroute, but it is never something to regret. What matters most, is you mentally and physically on the other side of that tree, steadily moving upward and onward.

Resistance is a reminder that we are not in alignment within and outside of ourselves (more on what “alignment” feels and looks like in a future blog). Resistance can either be an ever present sense of anxiety and worry, or it can be those things and much more. Resistance is also a natural part of life – a gift to remind us if we want relief from a given situation, all we have to do is readjust and move towards a different path to alignment.

What areas in your life has a lot of resistance? Is it in relationships, family ties, career, health, or money? If you have any sort of angst when you think of an area in your life, chances are there is a growing knot of resistance there, trying to steer you to an easier path.

An example of resistance: someone trying to purchase a home and they keep running into roadblocks, such as financing falling through, the inspection finding a significant issue with the house’s foundation, a storm sweeps in rain that floods the first floor. Every obstacle is there, yet the ego mind keeps telling you to push through. What will your family and friends think if the deal falls through?

What is on the other side of resistance for the person who can’t will themselves into that home they fixated on? Perhaps a bigger, more beautiful house? How about a house with a small mortgage? Or one in a better neighborhood than the one you’ve set your sights on?

God Spirit knows your heart, what you can handle and what’s best for you – and knows the intention you sent out to the Universe to be fulfilled. God has the ability to see a better, higher way for you than what your tunnel vision has focused on. God gives you the gift of resistance, so you can have intuition whispering when it’s time to move on.

It’s important to recognize whether your ego is speaking to you, or your inner God advising you. Your inner voice will guide you to take pause, look and feel where you’re at and redirect your energy and focus. Ego will tell you to continue pushing no matter what, while the inner guide in you will say, “hey, let’s take a look at this – why so much resistance in this area?”

Resistance is the Universe’s way of expressing to stop bumping your toes on the same rocky step. We all can be hell bent on going in that one and only direction. Resistance is a push to awaken you to other options, to bigger and better alignment with that which you want.

Eliminating Limiting Beliefs in 4 steps

Last week, I discussed positive affirmations and reasons why they may or may not work. One of the obstacles to successful manifestation is a person holding a “limiting belief.” Limiting beliefs are thoughts we hold, whether on the conscious or sub-conscious level that limits or diminishes our experiences.

Affirmations are an awesome way to focus your mind on what it is you want to manifest, but a limiting belief will block your blessing.

Our thoughts and beliefs have power. Thoughts shape our feelings, which then colors our responses with shades of our inner beliefs, moment to moment. If we are proclaiming in one breath, “I am wealthy,” but thinking the limiting belief “I never make enough money” or “others are luckier in money matters than myself,” then we will never manifest a state of wealth, all because of the limiting belief. You have to eradicate the limiting belief in order for the positive thought to take hold and manifest.

  1. The first step to eradicating the limiting belief is quickly assessing your thoughts. Are you feeling a certain pang of guilt for whatever reason from a thought? Do you find yourself justifying why you’re in a negative situation? Do you blame others or situations as to why you’re in a less desirable experience? On the other hand, do you find yourself beating yourself up (“I should be further along in xyz by now”)? Do you find yourself agreeing with the status quo (“Only xyz people get high paying jobs.”)? Chances are, you are holding limiting beliefs in your thoughts. It will keep you in a stuck position – between what you don’t want and what you do want. Unless you have your thoughts in check, your negative beliefs will rule instead of your positive ones.
  2. When looking at an area of your life, write down all aspects of it – the good and the not so good. Give it the 360 degree view treatment, by looking at all its angles. A 360 degree view of your situation will reveal more than just the negative, lopsided lenses we seem to love to view our lives through.
  3. Relax and forgive yourself by realizing you are creating these moments, and they are here to teach and guide you towards what it is you do want. Just as you created a moment of frustration, you can create a moment of reflection and positive re-direction to a new, better thought.
  4. Don’t dwell too much on the limiting belief because it’s not necessary. All that is important is realizing one has popped up and begin replacing it with a new thought. Dwell in the solutions, rather than the limiting beliefs or the problems.

Take Aways:

  • It is always about getting your mind and spirit into alignment with what you want.
  • A limiting belief can be counted on to guide you to what it is you really do want.
  • A limiting belief will cancel out a positive, new belief you’ve introduced to your mind.
  • With practice, eradicating limiting beliefs will become easier, as well as calling on new, better thoughts to replace the old ones.
  • Get comfortable with your inner thoughts, but don’t dwell in  diminishing and negative beliefs. Instead, look at everything in your life from a 360 degree view.
